The tickets for entrance are cheap and affordable but there's quite a lot see inside the park. Many birds and a few primates which I always enjoy seeing. There was also Galapagos Tortoises which I'd never seen before! There's lots of other animals as well to see especially if you're an animal lover - It's an old park but don't... More

Mitchell Park has a little zoo with quite a range of small animals. There is playground equipment and a restaurant. Great family vibes over the weekend.

This is a nice park although over weekends as it is small it gets a little crowded. The lower section is mostly open grass with a nice seating area under a huge tree – suitable for families with children there is a quite large swings and roundabouts area which is fenced off. Although it is changing seasons the upper section... More

We often go to Mitchell Park on family outings. It has a lovely tea garden, park with slides, swings and much more. The big attraction for us though is that we have a big animal.lover in our family and they have a lovely mini-zoo which has an array of different animals to see. The 100-plus tortoise in this park is... More

The park is beautiful and well maintained with colorful bedding, shrubs and trees. There is a playground and a very good cafe. The adjacent zoo has beautifully made aviaries. The cages and enclosures are large enough for the birds and small mammals. They are designed with plants and stumps to give the wildlife a more natural environment. Good place to... More

Could seriously use a revamp. Very dirty, has a little zoo, that has little to none animals. Needs serious attention.

Very enjoyable day out with my boy !! Lots of animals to see, mostly all in pretty good condition. Cages/enclosures are fairly well maintained and the overall cleanliness not bad at all. Zoo forms part of the Mitchell Park experience, with a nice park setting with trees and kids play area with a lake/pond to feed various bird types. Makes... More

If you have any respect for or love of animals - don't go! I am surprised Mitchell Park hasn't been shut down by Animal Welfare. Have just been to visit with my brother and sister-in-law and was nearly in tears. The animals are mostly in terrible condition as are the pens they are living in! Dirty enclosures, filthy water, rusting... More
