Acompact museum with some great exhbits, with a strong empahasis on rhinos, birds and insects. Located inside the beautiful and ancient premises of Durban's city hall, this is well worth a visit, not just to experience the exhibits but to gain a flavour of colonial Durban

You'll need a couple of hours to wander around. I found this museum well kept and informative. well worth visiting for local or overseas visitors. There's no coffee shop though and nothing nice nearby that i found!

This small museum has loads of exhibits, with new ones coming out all the time. The staff are excellent with public, answering a whole range of questions and keen to receive collections. The temporary exhibits are thought provoking and there are regular activities

Located on the second floor of the City Hall, this small museum was worth seeing but could have been so much more. It was jarring to see life size replica of dinosaur suddenly appear around a corner that had nothing to do with the displays in the cases near it. Still I learned something and did enjoy several of the... More

A well laid out museum with good exhibits and information. The staff however were not very enthusiastic nor were they helpful.

Small museum just above the town hall, can keep the little ones busy for a couple of hours, it's free as well! don't forget to see the Egyptian mummy which is easy to miss near the entrance.

My earliest and probably fondest memories are based here at the Natural Science Museum of Durban. My mom and siblings would make this a nearly weekly treat to check out the museum, linger around the stuffed animals and have coffee and cookies at the Watering Hole. My last visit was just as nice. A real treasure in the hustle and... More

Visited as part of our Dbn museums trip with my 7 yr old son. Was very nicely put together, well displayed and in very good condition. Staff not the most helpful or friendly I've found. But then again South Africans still need to work on that customer service side of things.... other than that a very enjoyable experience
