Durban at its best.

What used to be just the beach, has become one of Durbans cornerstone attractions. Very safe with kilometres of wide paved walkways.

Its one of our key stops everytime we go to durban. Clean, safe and enjoyable. Plenty of places to stop and have a drink on a hot day. Bring or rent a bicycle and cycle it for a fun activity.

We are blessed as we live in Durban and get to use the beach front often to walk our dogs, or to enjoy a bike ride from ushaka to blue lagoon. You can enjoy this any day of the week.

This place use to be a great place to go on family holidays, being able to enjoy the local fruit and culture. However this was not the case. All we got was stalls, all selling the same thing.

Dusted down the push bike – parked at Durban Country Club and went first southwards to Ushaka – much had changed since my last visit – expansive brick and cement walkways running along the edge of the beach – plenty of places to stop for coffee and snacks or full blown lunches – lots of public toilets – sparkling play... One can watch the ship from your hotel room. There are plenty of restuarant . On the weekend one can see a whole lot people exercising . Also cycle racing and many more. Sun bathing also. There are plenty of security but be careful you can get mugged.

A perfect family chilling spot with various restaurants, pubs and ice cream parlors around, the experience of Durban cannot be any better anywhere else. from the beggars to the millionaires, from the buskers to the surfers, the different race groups and their characteristics. Great spot to tan yet sufficient shade to relax and observe. Access to various other tourists sites... More

Great family venue to enjoy especially on a good day. Beautiful beaches along Durban's finest beachfront. Great surfing and safe swimming beaches which are well maintained. The promenade is great for a walk jog roller blading cycling skate boarding etc. A number of retail outlets and restaurant/ cafe's can be found on the promenade. A must visit when in Durban.... Walked this area of Durban a couple of times the last years and sure it is beautiful for a morning or early evening walk (not after 17.00). Or go for a nice cup of coffee or a bite to eat. Near the main road you find stalls with African souvenirs for a good price, they cost about half compared to... More
