About Safaris for Africa
We are a family-run business based in Umhlanga Rocks (Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa) with a passion for travel and twenty years of industry knowledge that has been passed from one generation to another. We believe time is the most valuable gift that we have and we would love to help you fill your time with breath-taking landscapes, indigenous cultures and extraordinary moments with nature and her wildlife. Our handpicked overland tours will take you on a journey to magical places under African skies: elephants wallowing in the Okavango Delta; the vast deserts of Namibia; safaris deep in Tanzania’s grasslands; the wild waterfalls of Zambia; or eye to eye with a whale on South Africa’s coastline. But first we want to get to know you so that, together with our knowledge and love for the details, we can shape your best-suited tour. There is so much to see and do in Southern Africa and we look forward to showing you around!

Sue provided myself and a family member an incredible trip to the Anglo-Zulu battlefields, and then onto St Lucia and Imfolozi game reserve, with Peter, our excellent tour guide! Effortless for us start to finish, and both Sue and Peter's knowledge ensured we did exactly what we wanted! Would recommend to all, and would not hesitate to use again when I next visit!

We recently spent a long weekend on safari at the beautiful and luxurious &Beyond Pindha Mountain Lodge in KwaZulu-Natal. Sue and her company organised it all for us, putting together a detailed itinerary in no time at all and responding to all our questions and needs in a timely, professional and highly effective manner. She met us in person at the airport with a driver to take us to the reserve and checked in to make sure we got there safely and that all was good. We had the most fantastic, amazing experience and will cherish the memories that Sue helped create. Would highly recommend her services.

In 2011, Sue Garson of Safaris for Africa was highly recommended to us for a photography trip in South Africa. Sue did an absolutely wonderful job of planning and organizing that trip. This included arranging for a superb personal guide for the majority of our time there. During that trip we visited several private game reserves and spent almost a full week in Kruger National Park. Having plans to be in South Africa the end of August this year, we again contacted Sue to help us with organizing a 10 day trip to Botswana and Zambia during the first two weeks of September. We never even considered contacting anyone else or any other travel agency. Once again, she organized an absolutely superb itinerary with excellent lodging in locations that she considered optimal for wildlife and landscape photography. We visited Chobe National Park, the Okavango Delta, the Salt Pans near Nata, and ended the trip in Livingston for a visit to Victoria Falls. We did not have a personal guide this time, but the guides provided by the safari lodges were extremely knowledgeable and attentive to our photography needs. It was a superb trip in all respects. Allowing for times when she was out of the office with a tour group, Sue communicated by phone and email with prompt replies to questions. She provided a detailed itinerary with contact information for each location, as well as air and ground transportation between locations, In our opinion, the cost was reasonable and appropriate. Sue is very professional, yet warm and welcoming. She made a special trip to Johannesburg at the beginning our trip to welcome us back to South Africa and review our itinerary. Of course, we were delighted to see her again. We highly recommend Sue Garson and her staff at Safaris for Africa to provide an outstanding travel experience in southern Africa.

Hi Frank, thank you so much for your review! There are days where animals are far and few between but that is the beauty of the bush in many ways. Our day trips to Hluhluwe always offer a glimpse into the Safari experience, but like you mentioned, having a bit more time to spot animals does help. Please remind us the name of your guide - We would love to pass on the message to him. Thank you once again for the feedback!

Sue has been amazing from the start. Really easy to contact, very responsive and gets back to you very fast. Sue explained the whole process and was very willing to get us booked for our trip. She met us at our hotel reception with a smile and a hug, and was very welcoming. She introduced us to our guide Peter who was amazing from the get go. On the drive to the game reserve he told us about history of places we passed, stopped for snack breaks and was so very patient. When we got into the reserve we were told lots of facts about the animals and shown how they were tracked. We stopped for lots of pictures of the animals and Peter was very patient with us. I could not rate these guys higher, if I return to Umhlanga I will definitely be booking a longer safari with these guys. Thanks so much for a special day.
