The uShaka Marine World compound is actually divided into 2 main sections. The free section consists of various shops and restaurants that you can enjoy without any entrance fee. The second area consists of the Marine World proper where you have to pay an entrance fee. We paid 130 rand per person for adults for a combo ticket. A combo... More

I have visited many aquariums round the world, but I think, this one is my favourite. The presentation of the fish and other animals has been done very nicely. The whole aquairuim is build lnto a large ship-wreck, and it is fun, just walking through it. So many details around, it must have been an enormous job to set up!... More

We really enjoyed this aquarium, and the range of things to see inside, it was a lot of fun. Don't go to Durban expecting Disneyland, it's the busiest port in the southern hemisphere. With this in mind, it's one of my favourite cities.

I recently visited Ushaka with my family. The place was awesome! Just a note; You will enjoy it much more on a warm summers day as most of the rides involve water. The dolphin show was also amazing. It made me cry...They are so lovely! I would recommend this as a day trip for anybody visiting Durban!

Very well done effort to combine water fun, marine animal displays and shopping. You can spend all day here. The animal demonstrations are lively and appropriate. The underground aquarium is stunning. If you want to get involved, you can get in the water with certain animals. Fun for kids and adults alike. Don't forget to stroll out to the pier... More

We went on a hockey and rugby tour to South Africa. One of our treats was to go to Ushaka marine world in Durban. When we got there we got taken to go and see the dolphin show it was amazing! Our teacher was a volenteer to go and kiss the dolphin. Next it was time to go into 'WET... More

Please note that this review is for the restaurant only of the uShaka complex and not for the whole complex itself. The restaurant is set in an old ship that was successfully converted into a 2 floor-restaurant with one wall made of glass where you can see sharks swimming around. I must say I expected something tacky as you can... More

Visited here in Spring 2007. Staff were clearly untrained and not interested in their jobs. Had to ask the same question to 4 different people before we got a straight answer. The waterpark was closed and there were no dives being done the day we went which was disappointing. Having to walk through about 60 shops before even getting to... More
