I've been to aquariums in the UK, US and Canada and have to say that uShaka is right up there with the best. The concept of the wrecked ship is great and is followed through very well with lovely details - like tool boxes upside down on the roof, wrecked pipework and machinery and all sorts of other bits and... Taking in concideration the price to pay at entry, one expect a lot more to be had. If planning on using the water park, shark cage diving, swimming with the fish, be sure to fork out some extra money. A normal visit to the aquirium take about 1 to 1.5 hours depending on how you mean to spend your time... More

A trip to Durbs is incomplete without a visit to Ushaka. Take out a combo card for the day, more cost effective and choose a sunny day. Lockers for hire are useful. Great fun, wonderful slide and tube rides, dolphin show is a must and take your time in the aquarium. Variety of restaurants and night tours also offered.

It was such a lovely aquarium inside the old ship. Great displays of the marine life. There was a shark waiting to give birth when we were there a few weeks ago. We didn't realise about the Sea World water park right there too as we would have loved to have gone there too. Lots of fun in the one... More

Ushaka Marine World is South Africa's equivalent to Sea World in Florida, with water park fun rides, an opportunity to dive with tropical fish and even with a few docile, smaller shark species! It includes a whole trail of shops, eateries and my favourite, the aquarium which is set inside an old ship and is beautifully laid out and designed... More

Go for the aquarium. It is underground and designed as an old ship wreck. The best aquarium I have been to. Have to say tho that the seal and dolphin displays were not the best.

I went with a 90 year old lady, and we hadn't accounted for the fact the place was over run with excited children! In the end we abandoned the attempt to see the fish and just enjoyed the shops in the arcade- and the shops were excellent, too. I don't think it is as user friendly as the old aquarium... More

The aquarium is world standard, as is the dolphin show. The facilities are clean and well managed. However, at R130 per person, plus lunch & drinks, it is a very expensive day out! We had two slush puppy drinks and an ice-cream from a kiosk for R50!! The kiosk did not display the price, which is really not fair from... More
