This is a food market ( with almost no fresh produce, so don't be mislead by the 'farmer' in the name) with a variety of cusines served across the different stalls.

The setting is quite relaxing with live bands/DJs/ open air bars and picnic style seating.

There is a 10 rand fee to enter and the place gets quite crowded during the weekends.

Definetely a fun afternoon out with family and friends.

I can’t say enough about this gem in our city. My only regret is that life is busy and I dont get there often enough. We hosted my daughters 15th birthday party there - 20 girls. The market manager set up tables under the mulberry trees. They loved it. Excellent security, awesome live music (approved by said girls), relaxed, friendly vibe, clean, great outdoor ambience, fantastic food (we just ordered pizza for the girls to keep it simple - and they devoured the lot). To the owners/ managers. Thankyou! Your market is fabulous. I’ll be back to sample all the other artisan vendors offerings.

Fourways farmers market is now in Modderfontein Reserve. With the description "farmers" in the name, you'd think there would be more on offer, from farmers- like fresh produce. Nothing.

A smorgasbord (lots) of different food stalls - we opted for a chicken bunny chow, choc brownies, coffee, craft cider/beer. (Long lines in the bar area with card machines having connection issues). The stalls are neat, roofed with straw on the ground, which helps with the dust.

There was a rather long wait at the entrance to the nature reserve, but if you visit the market, no fee is payable.

Seating/tables was an issue and more-so seating in the shade, not enough.

Setting: Beautiful & serene

Maybe I am a little biased being a South African, but for me it's hard to beat a bustling, energetic market in the heart of Johannesburg on a beautiful sunny day. The market offers a great vibe, good music, plenty of great food stalls and wonderful, well made African arts and crafts. Highly recommended

In the comfort of the city, hidden among the bushes, the little famers market comes alive with the taste of various cuisines from grills, Mexican, Thai, Indian, country, Portuguese, Italian, Greek and some brewery to quench your thirst. It was a lovely day out, relaxing on haystacks and enjoying the tastes with a difference. Enjoy!

Due to the popularity you will wait in a queue to pay for entrance into the market. It is only R10 for adults, kids are free. All the food stalls are really cool, some give testers, which is nice. All the food is good but some stalls are really pricy. The average price for a meal is R60-R80. There are many beverages, well except ciders. I love the gin bar and the wine bar. The entertainment is always a wow factor. I absolutely love the market.

An extensive range of food, ranging from traditional to modern with a twist. Superb sweet offering, a variety of cheeses, dips and sauces. Excellent coffee on offer, but be prepared for a long wait. Very hip live music, excellent place to spend a morning.
