A great place to visit but you will not spend a long time here. Jump out and take your photos is my best hint.

The square was very close by our hotel in Sandton and we visited here almost daily. Plenty of restaurant choices and a lovely square with fountains and Mandela statue. Lots of shops to browse round and the whole area felt very safe for wandering around.

We spent the afternoon after having lunch at Trumps grill (nothing to do with Donald). Nice setting, fancy shops around and restaurants, cafes surrounding Nelson Mandela huge sculpture. The water fountain is lovely with colored water shots for children to defy

I was staying in a hotel in the same complex and ha did time to explore. There seem s to be something for everyone. From Krispy Kreme Dounuts to Prada. It is very clean and the people are polite and helpful. The outside area where the large Mandela statue is situated is of a generous size and again, very clean.... More

Plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from although the layout it confusing, and having guards with rifles on the doors is a little off putting

Nelson Mandela Square, as its name suggests, commemorates and honors the great Nelson Mandela with a huge prominently located statue of the man. However, Nelson Mandela Square is more that a monument to the man; it is a large, upscale shopping area, with multiple dining options, including several al fresco options, a major hotel, and plenty opportunities for people watching... Boy Oh Boy its best you put on them walking shoes for this one. It is huge and adjoins the hotel and the two shopping centres. Its most definitely a full day tour with so much to do and see. Will be even better once the path to the Gautrain opens. You are so spoilt with movies, shopping at these... More
