I did not know what to expect on safari, and this experience was terrific. We stayed at Nkorho Lodge in Sabi Sands, a game reserve on the edge of Kruger national park. The tracker and ranger on our game drives had extensive knowledge of the animals and birds that we saw, and in our open jeeps we had close up views of leopards, lions, giraffes, rhinos, hyenas and smaller animals like the dwarf mongoose. The animals are used to the vehicles, and allow for great photography. Our safari was arranged by Karen Blackwood and Ernest Porter, who are expert photographers anxious to share their expertise. The lodge was luxurious, the food wonderful and the staff gracious and helpful. We traveled to Nelspruit from Capetown, staying in Loeri's Call in Nelspruit overnight (also wonderful), and were transported to Sabi Sands by Seasons in Africa, all arranged by Karen/Ernest. The experience could not have been better!

We recently did a five day safari with EagleEye safari from Denver. It was one of the most incredible experiences in our lives. The accommodations in our bush lodge Nkorho on a private reserve, Sabi Sands, adjacent to Kruger National Park in South Africa was superb. We had a private bungalow and gourmet meals every day. We spent almost 40 hours cruising this private reserve and saw lions, leopards, rhinoceros hippopotamus, cape buffaloes, zebras, giraffes and many other wildlife species. The lodge staff were always helpful and even provided some entertainment at dinner. I would highly recommend using this moderately The lodge staff were always helpful and even provided some entertainment at dinner. I would highly recommend using this moderately priced safari-priced EagleEye Safari.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Skip! We did have some wonderful sightings, especially the hippo's territorial display while the hyena lurked around the edge of our coffee stop! We are so happy that you enjoyed your safari! It was a pleasure hosting you & Carol on your epic trip.

Our safari vacation through Eagle Eye Safaris was one of my very favorite international experiences, and I have been fortunate to have experienced many. I'm still loving the fact that the animals were so close and simply moving around naturally. They didn't care about us! I'll never forget those feelings. The male lion just laid there and stared at us--only several feet away. We got a terrific photo of that stare! Watching the giraffes walk so gracefully amazed me. They crossed the road right in front of us--beautiful! Karen Blackwood was excellent about letting us know about the planning, what to expect for our travel arrangements and of the five day safari, clothes to take, and all the details of our extended trip to Cairo. She made the entire experience so smooth. She also arranged for our guides in Cairo who were also excellent. Karen and our driver Callum knew a wealth of information about the animals and loved sharing it with us. The meals at the Nkorho Bush Lodge were fabulous. A wonderful variety of dishes. I had ostrich for one dinner meal--unexpectedly delicious! The room where we had dinner took my breath away the first night, it was so beautiful. The room was dark, with a fire pit in the middle surrounded by a semi circle table set for all of us with candles at every place setting. Our cabana at the Lodge was very comfortable with large rooms. We loved both the indoor and outdoor showers, and the swinging chairs on our porch. We had a beautiful view of the watering hole and the grounds. It was a perfect place to relax between the two daily safaris. I have already recommended Eagle Eye Safaris to many of our friends and would love to go on another safari with them.

I booked a tour with Eagle Eye Safaris to do a full-day of birding around Joburg in late September 2019. My guide was Ernest Porter, who is a partner of the company. He took me to two parks that had different kinds of habitat so that I could see a wide range of bird species. Not only is Ernest knowledgeable and passionate about wildlife, he is a fun guy to be with. Although Ernest is an accomplished photographer, he did not even bring his own camera on the trip as he focused purely on spotting birds for me. That's what I called excellent customer-centric service! This tour was definitely one of the highlights of my recent visit to South Africa.

Karen and Ernest of Eagle Eye Safaris provided an incredible safari to our intimate group. Thank you for your care, your humor, your amazing knowledge and your team of fabulousness at the lodge. Everything from the photo tips, the Lightroom classes, and the insane photo ops we were all able to take advantage of made for a 5 days trip of a lifetime. The pre and post offerings were very suitable and perfectly appointed - take full advantage of all they have to offer you! What a jewel in the rough of Sabi Sands Reserve!

Thank you so much for your kind words, Claudia! We know you travel a LOT, so have plenty of opportunities to compare. Knowing we measure up and even exceed really makes our day! We were so thrilled that your group got not only the BIG 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo), but the Baby Big 5 as well--the young (including newborns) of the Big 5. Topping it off with all of our other incredible sightings was icing on the safari cake. We enjoyed meeting you, and are so happy that you are coming back next year for more. See you in June 2020!
