We had an amazing experience with Makwela Transfrontier Safaris. Duard is a very kind and professional guy, very reliable in every detail. We rented from him a fully equiped 4x4 with rooftop tent to have a 4 weeks self-drive around botswana. The car was very confortable, fully equiped for both emergency and leisure aspects, not a detail were left behind. Bed linen and blanckets as wll as crockery were brand new and everything was absolutely confortable. He built for us a tailor made itinerary which responded in every detail to our needs and desires, and this has not been a easy task since we are very demanding and attentive to every detail in the planning phase of our trips. He also provided constant support and logistical assistance at all times of need. Our trip as been amazing and this was not just because of Botswana's wonders but because of him too.

We had another fantastic trip with Makwela Transfrontier Safaris - this time to Kruger Park. As always, Duard put together an amazing itinerary, tailor made for us. All arrangements ran smoothly - all we had to do was turn up! As a fully qualified field guide, Duard loves to share his knowledge and passion for the African bush, which makes the experience so enjoyable and immersive. We had a fabulous time and can’t wait for our next trip with Makwela Transfrontier Safaris in April - this time to Namibia again!

We had a fantastic holiday with friends and Duard and the second holiday is already booked.
The places that Duard took us to and the itinerary daily was just amazing.
4 x 4 sand dunes and a picnic in the dunes was brilliant.
Boat rides to the seals and dolphins
Mokoro rides seeing elephants in the water etc etc
and mustn't forget the singing in the van along the way.
The whole trip was from start to finish so well organized with great lodge selections along the way.
A truly magical holiday.

We had the most amazing holiday in Namibia and Botswana. We said we wanted to visit Namibia and see the big dunes and from that rather vague wish, Duard put together the most fantastic private guided itinerary, including activities we probably would not have thought of (quad biking, dune riding, mokoro rides, horse riding etc etc). Everything was arranged perfectly and all we had to do was get up each morning and be ready for another great day of adventure! Duard is a fully qualified field guide/ranger and loved to share his passion for Africa with us.
We were due to visit Namibia again with Duard in May this year but due to Coronavirus, our trip has been postponed until next April - counting down the days already!
I would highly recommend Makwela Transfrontier Safaris for anyone who wants a fantastic guided trip or just a brilliant itinerary and well kept vehicles for a self drive.

Unfortunately for this year's trip we had to postpone until 2021 but your next safari journey will be epic for sure.

A spectacular journey through Botswana, combining lodges, camping, mokoros (dug out canoes), game drives, excursions, gourmet meals cooked over the fire, amazing wildlife sightings and encounters. Absolutely unforgettable, once in a lifetime adventure. Planning and communication very easy, greeted at the airport with a warm welcome and gifts! All around a 5 Star operation! Can’t wait to plan another trip with Makwela Transfrontier Safaris!
