Lovely market full of interesting things. Nice food from local farmers who need our support. Nice bar to sit outside and admire the views. Recommended thing to go in Pretoria on a Saturday morning.

The Saturday morning market is a must for both visitors and for residents of Pretoria who will find themselves attending on a regular basis. There is such a wide selection of cuisines from Thai to Greek to Argentinian to South African. You can buy fresh croissants, gourmet muffins, rye bread, olives, cheeses, pesto sauces, cake pops, ice cream, milk shakes, sugar-coated and roasted nuts, bubble tea, iced coffee, and more. My eight-year old son's favorite is the fried calamari. He calls the market the Calamari Market and the calamari vendor calls my son "Mr. Calamari". It's the kind of place where you end up befriending the vendors as you will quickly become a regular. Come hungry! There are picnic tables where you can sit and eat or eat as you walk around. Some items are best eaten fresh from the stand while others make for great take away and consumption even a few days later. There is some fresh produce but for the most part, it is prepared foods. There is also a stand where kids can paint pictures or make sand art for a small fee which keeps your kids busy while you shop. Most of the vendors take Snapscan or Zapper (or just plain old credit cards) so payments are very easy and convenient. Do note that the market is moving to a new location as of the beginning of November.…

In order to have something different to experience in food, it is definitely a place to go to. There is always something you haven't tried. Nice play just to sit with friends and have something to bite & talk. Atmosphere leans toward this.

Choose between craft beer, wine or cold drink to wash it all down and off course ......dont forget about the variety deserts, sweets and cakes on offer. Not that hungry? Just walk around and have little tidbits. It is such a relaxing day out.…

Such a variety of eats! The most delicious chili bites I have eaten in a very long time, the best artisinal mealie bread in Pretoria and bottles fully packed with mango chutney goodness eaten with home made cheese. This was the products that filled my market basket on a beautifull spring Saturday morning. If only I was able to eat more, to taste more, to fit more into my basket!…
