Review of: This is Hillbrow
It was very interesting to see the market with fresh vegetables and fish. This allowed us to be in real ambiance of downtown where we can hardly imagine to be able to walk around without guides who know well the corner. It was also revealing to discover that people are living joyously despite hardship. The corn we bought in the market was not as sweet as the corn we can find in Woolworth. But it was tasty like the experience in Hillbrow.

I am definitely doing this one again. Well organized (from the confirmation email with clear instructions/directions, the guys that welcome you at the Ponte gate, the climb up so impressive) Thank you team! The view from the top is to die for coupled with the breakfast. A great way to spend a Sunday morning. Highly recommended

Review of: Ponte Experience
We spent the night on the 52th floor in an apartment with magnificent and beautiful views over the city. The apartment was really comfortable and we spent most of the evening looking out the windows at the ever changing view and sky. We had a delicious Ethiopian dinner that was organized for us from a restaurant down the road in Yeoville and delivered to our door - delicious! And the next morning we had the Ponte experience tour which was fascinating. The story of Ponte is so interesting and how it fits into an ever evolving Johannesburg. Gilbert Mwape was our Dlala Nje tour guide. He was excellent and gave a great tour with so many interesting stories about Ponte. I spent the night in Ponte and did the tour with my two boys, aged 11 and 13 years. They described the evening and the tour as “one of the best things they have ever done”. We live in Johannesburg, and are familiar with Ponte as part of Joburg’s iconic skyline. But it’s been a real privilege to have spent the night there and been in the building. And best of all, to have supported Dlala Nje who are doing such good work. We highly recommend the Ponte Experience, not just to visitors to Johannesburg, but also to people who live here.

Review of: This is Hillbrow
I went with a group on Human Rights Day to do the the Hillbrow-Berea tour. It was fascinating, insightful, very safe and there was the higehst level compliance with COVID-19 reguations. I can't think of a better way to spend Human Rights Day. I would recommend the tour to any one interested in Joburg history and in learning more and seeing Hillbrow and Berea, safely and succintly for themselves! Well done to Nicklous Bauer and the Dlala Nje team for an amazing tour!

Review of: This is Hillbrow
My son and I just took a Dlala Nje tour of Ponte City and Hillbrow. What a fantastic experience! I can't say enough about how professional and knowledgeable Nickolaus and Grant were. This area has such a fascinating history and it is so rich with culture, smiling faces and friendly people. This was such an eye opening experience for my 14-year old son who has never been to Africa. I highly recommend Dlala Nje and their tours. Very safe and very well organized.
