Family orientated and clean. Gives city kids a good idea of wild animals and how they should be respected and treated.

I have to admit that I am not a fan of zoos generally. I was persuaded to visit. I was saddened by the enclosures for the elephant and predators - really not where these animals belong.

The zoo snooze is a great idea. The upgrade of enclosures throughout the zoo makes for a pleasant experience despite the fact that the animals are in captivity.

If kruger is too far this is a good taste of Africa> Very educational with boards explaining each animal> for those who cannot walk u can hire a golf cart or go on the tractor.

For somebody who doesn't like any living creature to be caged, I have to admit that this zoo is an amazing living operation of allowing a broad spectrum of visitors to interact, learn and support so much of the animal kingdom in a stunning garden...More

Hi Ruth Just called to find out for you - there do NOT have the golf cart tours available anymore but do have wheelchairs for hire (R100 per day). Hope this helps.

No, not possible. To interact with baby lions you should go to Lion Park.
