The place is huge. If you go with your family your kids will get tired as there is too much walking to do. Easy to get lost as the map is not that easy to navigate. There needs to be more carts driving around to...More

Visited several times over the last 30 years with family or with local friends I've visited. Amazing display of well kept animals, clear directions and easy parking and all with a gorgeous climate to enjoy it in.

Best kept secret in Jozi! Not really, but this place is great. The zoo is massive, it's well-kept, it wasn't too busy, it has picnic spots, play areas for the kids, well-marked paths and plenty of animals to see. I've been to zoos in the...More

A great day out for the family, especially if you have young children. Be prepared for a long leisurely walk through the zoo with a variety of bird life and animals to view. Sunscreen and hats is a must

Amazing in the middle of suburbia. A great selection of animals, well looked after and in good paddocks where needed. Decent entry price, toilets, drinks and food stalls. There is a lot of walking to see everything, maybe plan on two visits!

I went on the 5k walk for cancer around the zoo. It combined exercise with visiting the different animals at the zoo. I was impressed how they attempted to make the environment as natural as possible.

It's great to see that the zoo keeps getting better in terms of its exhibits, maintenance and renovations. We were pleased to see the animals of the Amazon exhibit, which boasted some of the most popular such as the piranha and yellow anaconda. We marvelled...More

Amazing structure. Needs cleaning and a new map (the one they have is sooo confusing). The place where the lions stay is AMAZING, what a structure! No Polar Bear and the place where he used to stay is there, abandoned. Beware: its a place for...More

Hi Ruth Just called to find out for you - there do NOT have the golf cart tours available anymore but do have wheelchairs for hire (R100 per day). Hope this helps.
