Yes they have lots of different animals that actually seem to be taken care of responsibly, but the zoo itself is a great park with lots of little green 'lungs' where you can plonk down with some cool drinks or perhaps a picnic basket and...More

I visited the zoo on Saturday 12 October 2017 after not having been there for years. It was always wonderful, now it is neglected, dirty, drinking taps don't work. Why did they spend so much money on the parking arcade?

It's a nice day out, good walks and of course plenty of animals to watch. In Joburg, you need places to walk and here you can do safely and with much to look at, enjoying the animals, although I do prefer them in the wild.

Needs more support but a great day out. Take your own food as the facility's there are not the best. But in all a great day out with the family.

Great place to get out and see some of natures finest. Some really beautiful birds and exotic wildlife as well as interesting reptiles. A great outing for families with kids, fun rides and good picnic spots.

It was a good experience for us. The zoo has not been well maintained over the years in my opinion. Most of the animals were moved to other spots due to maintenance.

No, not possible. To interact with baby lions you should go to Lion Park.

No - no babies the lion park has lion cubs, but SA has no gorillas so no babies but the lion park and I think Kurgersdorp game reserve has baby tigers too.

At the main entrance there might be cameras but we entered through the back entrance. The security and cashiers there were friendly and profesional.
