We had a great afternoon with Petra visiting varied places in and around Johannesburg. She picked us up from the airport and have us a private tour taking into account our interests for a reasonable price. Entry to attractions and a small meal was included. We had a great day. Thanks again Petra. Chris and Caroline

Booked a day tour with Peter from Firelight to visit the Apartheid Museum and Soweto - there were 5 of us so it was a private tour and Peter tailored it to whatever we wanted to do - even stopping at a lovely coffee shop within minutes of collecting us, at our request - and paying for it!! Thank you so much Peter, we had a great day and appreciate all you shared with us - the day was really informative and we learnt a lot - both myself and my sister in law have decided we now need to know more and will be researching books! Our tour group were aged 50-80 years old and there was something for everyone.

It was our first visit to Johannesburg, and we had no idea where to start. Peter was excellent at giving us a broadview, and we would have never gone to Wandies without him. We have referred him to friends - truly excellent for first-timers! We visited in October of 2014.

We had about a 24-hour layover in Johannesburg, so I chose Firelight and its proprietor, Peter Moni, because he was responsive on email and allowed us to customize what we wanted to do. Peter drew up an itinerary that included admission to some interesting sights (the Hector Pieterson memorial and museum, the Mandela House, Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton) and also lunch at Wandie's Place in Soweto. Had we wanted, we could have worked the Apartheid Museum (or anything else, really) in there, but chose not to out of time constraints. Peter was very flexible and would have let us go wherever we wanted. I was a bit miffed when Peter showed up 20 minutes late for our appointed meeting, but he was friendly and courteous when I arrived. Clearly very knowledgeable about the history of J-burg and passionate about its future. If I had to do it again, I probably would have gone to the Apartheid Museum instead of something like the Top of Africa viewpoint, which was pointless and wasted an hour, in my opinion. But I'm glad Peter took us to things I didn't quite know about, namely the Pieterson museum which was a highlight of the day. He also drove us by the World Cup soccer stadium when he found out we were sports fans, and took us to the airport at the end of the day. I get the sense if we had asked him to go bungee jumping, he would have gladly escorted us. All in all, I'd recommend Peter for his professionalism and flexibility. I wish he hadn't been so late, but he made up for it in the end.

Dear Anthony D, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such an honest review of your customised Johannesburg city tour! We take great pride in providing an exceptional and unique guest experience! This of course means that each email or phone call is responded to timeously. This also allows us to understand your unique requirements and to tailor a tour around you. We really do apologize for Peter's tardiness and understand how the delay could've impacted negatively on your tour as you had limited time to visit all the wonderful places Jo'burg has to offer. This has been noted and we will be mindful of this going forward. We hope that should you visit Johannesburg again, you will have the time to visit the Apartheid Museum, followed by tour of our capital, Pretoria. Both offer wonderful insights into our diverse country's history and culture! Happy travels & kind regards, The Firelight Team

I needed tours for 3 days in Johannesburg and found Firelight Tours. They gave me the chance to pick my own spots and then added to the list. What a way to enter a foreign country than to see a sign with your name and Petra holding it! 3 days for ziplining, entering the Sterkfontein Cave, visiting the Van Dyke Cheetah Center, riding a tram overlooking Harbeespoort Dam, walking the meteorite crater. What a wonderful intro to South Africa--and not costing an arm and leg while doing it!
