It is a must do for all including locals. I have spent my entire life in Johannesburg and must say was pleasantly surprised. The tour is reasonably priced and the hop off hop on option makes it great. I would recommend this with the extended...More

It is only when I had an overseas visitor that I joined the City Sightseeing bus tour. We started in Rosebank with the Greentour all the way to Constitution Hill without getting out at any of the stops. We took backroads through the leavy northern...More

Wonderful tour with The Johannesburg Heritage Society. We heard about history of the Chinese in South Africa, heritage of heros, Mandela,s office, lunched @ the Swallows Inn which is highly recommended for Chinese cuisine.

Informative and a great way to get to know the cosmopolitan city of Johannesburg. I recommend allocating a day or two in order to be able to stop in places such as Braamfontein, Zoo Lake, Constitution Hill, the Apartheid Museum, the Wits Art Museum. I...More

I wanted to do a city tour of Johannesburg and Soweto and was travelling alone. After much research I decided on the City Sightseeing HOHO bus. There are feeder services from Rosebank and now 2 lines. However, I was staying in Houghton, so I decided...More

Great way to the Jozi in a different light. It's amazing how much people don't know the city's history even though they stay there. Loved the Soweto leg of it as well

It was the first time I used the company to sightseeing a city. Johannesburg is a beautiful place, but getting around with public transportation is rather complicated. The hop in hop off scheme of the company really helped and the explanations were very good. Also,...More

We did the red tour a year ago and now the green tour. It is a very nice addition. Perfect in time. Ideal way to discover Johannesburg.

The tout was okay. Would rather have experienced the tour with a guide so as to get a more personal touch without the constraints of a timetableMore

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that our open top double deck bus tour seems more commercial to you than a small private tour. Our type of tour does run to a timetable, as they do all over the world and we do...More

I'm visiting Johannesburg and Cape Town July 8-15, and still not sure how to pack. I don't think I will be on a safari but we are doing a lot of sightseeing. Articles say wear long sleeves and scarfs, boots etc. I see temps of 60-65 F, as highs. Normally in Southern US, that would be short sleeves and jacket weather but I don't know how South Africa 65 f, feels. I fear packing long sleeves and sweaters that I will get hot. Once we leave the hotel, we are out all day, 3 days in Johannesburg and 3 days in Cape Town. Would short sleeve shirts, with a denim jacket or a cardigan sweater keep me warm? I have running sneakers and skinny jeans as my bass. Or do you really think I need to pack long sleeves/sweaters. I'm bringing a fleece type jacket along with a denim. Will I need much more? IPlease reply soon. I'm so confused and leave in 2 weeks for my trip.

Also, I forgot to say yes, I think your denim and cardigan would be perfect. That's what I packed as well.

hi, we'll be in johannesburg in early july for 2 days and it sounds like the on/off bus was a great way to see the city. did you book it when you arrived or prior? did you feel safe getting off the bus and walking around?? it seems best to see the apartheid museum on your own? any further suggestions are welcomed. thank you! food queen

We bought our tickets for the bus at Park Station. When you get off the Gautrain, head for the Wolmarans street exit. All the stops the bus makes are safe, and didn't really feel threatened at any of the stops. If you do... More
