It was a nice place to visit, but you really had to look to find unique things or really good deals. Don't be afraid to barter!

When you first enter the market you will see only a few vendors on the ground floor but you will need to venture in and you will find the stairs near the back wall that will lead you to an entire floor downstairs. The craft market is great - it has a good range of African items - there are the African masks, of course, bowls (made from wood or beads), African animals (wood, stone), Ostrich eggs (carved, plain or illustrated), t-shirts, textiles and much much more. The markets are in a lovely, bright, airy building with great lighting so you can see what you are buying. And of course you will need to bring your negotiating skills.

Lots of great stuff to look at but impossible with the pressure tactics of the sales people. Down in a basement setting is where the most stuff is.

The stalls are well equipped with lots of 'touristy' goods on sale. It's almost certain that the stall holders have an agreement on the price they should be asking. That price is often 5 times over the expected, so barter and barter and barter until you get a reasonable deal. If you speak Afrikaans that always helps !!
