Perfect Sunday Funday for lunch and shopping
Feb 2021
Awesome open space with no worries about social distancing. Food is amazing plus so much choice. Sense of community between the vendors is so wonderful to see. I wish my purse was deeper so that I could have bought all the goodies I liked. Beautiful gift ideas too.

Great local market. Local Craft, art and international street food/drink.

Wow want a find. I stumbled upon the sign for this on returning from the hop on/off bus tour. It is located in the shopping mall at Rosebank and is easily accessible by the lift. There were stalls selling African crafts and art so great for those souvenirs to remind yourself of having a great time in Johannesburg and South Africa. If you wanted a little rest from shopping there were street stalls selling local and international dishes, plus beer, wine or cocktails to go with it. There were local bands and a DJ to listen to as well. A great way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday. As with any major city be aware of your surroundings, however I felt safe and could browse at ease.

What a find!
Feb 2020
We missed the Saturday markets and so we decided to try Rosebank’s. We found artwork and lovely hand-made gifts that were reasonably priced especially Happy Handcrafts (where we brought belts and a dog collar) and Daschner Designs metal art that now graces our living room. And the food choices......!

Amazing place

This was a fantastic market with bargain prices. The stalls kept me mesmerized. The food section had a taste for all and the portions were big. The Sri Lankan food was very cheap and tasty.

Went to the markets today- lots to see. Lots of signs about watching your belongings etc. Not 100% I felt overly safe here more so because of the signs but I did enjoy looking around. Pretty sure I over paid but I’m ok with that. Lots of artefacts, clothes, food etc etc. If your in joburg in a Sunday worth a look.

The handmade jewelry was exceptional, a good value and I am sorry I did not buy more. (We arrived too late to see everything!)

Great for people watching
Aug 2019 • Solo
This is a fairly extensive market that includes a range of crafts of widely varying quality, as well as food, housewares, etc. I went on my second day in Joburg and found it a great place to watch the array of people, both vendors and attendees, that varied as widely as the crafts. The vendors did some beckoning of potential customers, which I'm not wild about, but not as aggressively or persistently as I've sometimes experienced elsewhere. If you're going to buy anything, it's my sense that it would be a mistake not to negotiate.

Excellent Tourist Market
May 2019 • Solo
Worth the visit to come & spend your Sunday here. Great selection of local crafts, but expect tourist prices. It's located on the top floor (parking lot) of the Rosebank Mall, which is also open on Sundays.

Crafts, art, food
Nov 2018
I stumble across this market during my stay in Jo'burg. It's held in a parking structure next to the Rosebank mall. It was a wonderful surprise. The market is full of vendors selling crafts, artwork, clothing, and food. I picked up several souvenirs (clothes, tea, art, and jewelry). There are several food vendors. The Malaysian options was good and I also chose some samosas for later.
