most efficient reliable means of travel, good value for money, beats sitting in traffic any day!! I have always found the stations and coaches to be very neat and clean, I love that you not allowed to eat or drink as that gets rids of half the problems.

The Gautrain is the best public transport system in Gauteng if you are traveling between Pretoria and Johannesburg. It works with a Gold Card that you preload with money and even has an app to help you get around by showing you when the next train is, buses, and estimated costs. My only problem is that the bus-routes don't always... More

As a frequent user of Gautrain I don't know what I would do without it. It's very user friendly and world class. Trains are frequent which means you rarely need to plan your exact departure time - particularly the airport link to Sandton. When I'm not traveling for business my son loves taking a trip - kids under 3 ride... More

Fantastic experience. Landed at OR Tambo Airport and caught the Gautrain to Sandton. Fast, smooth and very quiet inside. No better way to travel if you want to avoid traffic.

Although the Gautrain provides a commuter movement service between Johannesburg and Pretoria most readers of Trip Advisor will come across it when they use it to travel from ORT Airport to Johannesburg. Generally it offers a fast and efficient service although at weekends and holidays there can be waits of 20 minutes or more between trains. The trains are very... More

Our children wanted to experience a ride on the Gautrain. We jumped on at Hatfield Pretoria and in no time arrived at our destination at Sandton City. Convenient and clean. No delays and highly recommended if your destination is en route.

I found it easy to use, frequent, clean and fast. I must say I was disappointed by the loading of fees onto the card because the fare from Sandton to the airport is R151. That is so that most people will put R160 or more Rand into their card and if they are not frequent travellers, they would forfeit the... More

Since I started using the train to the airport, I am able to spend maximum time with my family and knows I will reach the airport safely on time. No more risks of traffic jams and police roadblocks. The train precise schedules makes life more easier.
