This is a must do and the only way to see Soweto, if you ask me. The tour was incredible, the company even better, I never felt like a tourist, I felt part of the vibrant community and felt like I was just having a ride with some good friends. Sipho, the guide, is very knowledgable, pleasant to be around, shows you his own projects, lets you meet his friends, favourite spots and neighbourhoods. He truly gives you the full picture of the multi-faceted township of Soweto: both the rich and the poor, the beauty and ugliness, and especially the contrast that can be found within Soweto.

Our safari experience exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Doug, was fantastic. He helped us set up activities that we would enjoy and woke us up in the morning to make sure we'd get to them on time. He was extremely knowledgeable about where, when, and how to look for animals while we were driving around the park. He even helped us find better accommodations in Johannesburg. He was friendly, courteous, and helpful in every way. Highly recommended! -- Tim and Colleen

Wife and I saved our first safari for the last day of our Nov '16 South African trip. What a capstone adventure! Douglas, a highly skilled naturalist picked us up at our hotel at dawn for the 2 hour drive from Rosebank. Douglas happily shared knowledge on the geological, human, and animal history of the districts we drove through. Once at Pilanesberg, we left all traces of human impact on the land. It was a cross between Jurassic Park, The Lion King and the garden of Eden. We certainly re-calibrated where humans are on the food chain. Douglas helped train our unskilled eyes to see the well camoflaged animals that appeared in groups seemingly every 30 feet of the trip. We were educated on each species and even given an illustrated scorecard to help identify the animals found in the park. We finally made it to a lodge where a hot breakfast and coffee were available for a reasonable cost. This short break gathered other safari goers to board the open sided elevated safari vehicles so we parted from Doug.
The next 4 hours were led by high spirited and well trained reserve guide who explained animal behaviors in between pointing out one species or another. We saw zebra, elephants, impala, hippos, crocodiles, lions, warthogs, wildebeasts and even the elusive leopard. Most of the animals were close (30-50 feet) and all were relaxed and unbothered by the human proximity. Bring your camera(s)!! The afternoon concluded with a hearty lunch (reasonably priced) and the swapping of observations with equally excited new friends. The lodge is built adjacent to a reserve-adjacent water hole so a steady stream of animals meandered through for a drink and turn at the salt lick. Again, have your cameras ready. The entire day was about $150 per person, the best money we spent on our South Africa trip. This is highly recommended.

I spent a good two weeks in South Africa and looked after by Adventure Anywhere. The staff very organized - they
made our experience of South Africa a pleasure. They put together the itinerary and with considered logistics kept the safari interesting. Kruger Park was fantastic! Thank you!

On a Saturday, I'd decided I wanted to go to South Africa. Yup. I managed to get last minute tickets from Delta for Sunday early morning flying from Montreal, a stop by Atlanta, and finally to Pretoria. While I waited at the airport to fly to South Africa, I got the idea that THE thing to do in South Africa would be to go on a safari – little did I know people planned and booked a year in advance to for these sort of trips. In between airport WI-FIs, I contacted many people from safaribookings.com. They were all quite nice, but they all gave me the same answer that this was really a last minute request and they couldn't really accommodate.

Then I contacted Adventure Anywhere and Ryan replied that despite the difficulties, he could work something out. I only needed a few email exchanges in-between connecting flights to have a 4 day safari planned. By the time I landed in South Africa, it was as easy as a few follow up calls where I was put in contact with Doug. Doug was an expert guide, but more than that, he managed to negotiate a last minute bush walk which was the ultimate experience of the whole trip. I'm sure I wasn't the easiest of client to deal with, but Adventure Anywhere was able to accommodate what was essentially a hard ask from me, and for that I highly recommend them.

If I was able to get a great experience with little planning, I can only image what they can do with some more leeway.
