They have re-opened behind LeRoy Merlin.
The coffee shop and play area are back.

The birds were relocated to Monte Casino Bird Park in Fourways.
The pet shop is huge and well stocked.

Took my girls there yesterday. The sheer variety of birds is staggering. White peacocks, giant pelicans, macaws, ducks, owls, ostriches, emus, chickens, swans, kookaburras, African greys. It was spectacular.
And to top it off the girls loved the play area and had the hugest bowl of ice-cream ever!

We visited Petmasters to fill a lunchtime layover between flights. It is a bird park, playground and cafe that is attached to a large pet shop. The birds are housed in cages and aviaries, and while some of the aviaries were a reasonable size, others seemed too small for the birds they housed. Most cages/aviaries were close to bare (some did have a few toys) and we noticed that most of the birds were sitting very still and seemed depressed and under-stimulated. There is a good playground for kids but the food at the outdoor cafe is poor (greasy & overly salty) and the coffee was terrible. The whole place had a depressing touristy feel. We left earlier than we needed to, and will not return.

A great spot in Boksburg for animal lovers. A good clean pet shop that has just about everything including great variety of fish.

The bird park is worth a visit and has more than just birds - does not feel like you in town when you stroll around. No entrance fee.

The little restaurant makes a great coffee and a nice spot just to relax.

I have taken my grandchildren here for years and they always loved it. What a shame that the bird park section is closed, I believe the venue has been sold. The East Rand has a serious lack of good quality outdoor places for children, terrible that one of the few remaining venues and an educational one at that, is closing

A very tranquil little zoo. Alpacas and Pelicans being the main attraction. Restaurant serves good food in a pleasant setting. A lovely little haven from the hustle and bustle of the most densely populated area in Gauteng.

We often take photos there with our granddaughters. We love to eat while watching them play. They would just come have a bite a drink of cold drink and then off to play again. The animals are such a treat, There is this cute little parrot that sticks it foot out through the wire so it can grab on to you and it says hello hello. Love to play with him every time we go and it is the highlight of the day for me and the grand daughters.
