We were brought to Sardinia bay as part of our tour of port Elizabeth. Wild side of the peninsula our guide said. Unfortunately the barrier wasn’t safe to get down to the beach 🏖 the day we were here. Quiet on a weekday and very hot in January.

In my opinion, the most beautiful beach in Gqeberha. A long stretch of beautiful golden sand and a view of the ocean so large you feel smaller than an ant.

It is very popular over weekends, and parking is a bit of a mission. But everyone is kind, and it's relatively safe to park on the side of the road. Then, take the walk up the huge dune, and once at the top, the view will have you gasping. It's beautiful! Over weekends, the locals sit on the dunes, have a picnic and watch the most amazing golden sunsets unfold. It is peace, tranquility and beauty all in one.

There are no ablutions, also go in a group wear a hat, take water and simply enjoy.

An amazing beach set in a conservancy. Lovely rock pools and surf. Sea is dangerous and does have rips so need to know what you’re doing especially as there are no life guards out of season. Top beach

Beach is full of seaweed and dogpoop. Use to be a very clean beach😕People leave the poop there to step in and the horses also poop everywhere. No toilets, so do not drink anything before you go

Steep uphill over a dune reveals this gorgeous gem of a beach nestled between sandbanks. Peaceful, safe and beautiful.

This is a fantastic location to spend a day away from the rat race. The beach is nice and secluded with loads of rocky areas for the kids to climb. The water is clear and great for snorkeling and swimming

Sardinia Bay has a really nice stretch of beach. However, it is difficult for elderly people to get to the beach as one has to walk from the parking area and ascend and descend monstrous sand dunes. access to the actual beach, therefore, is difficult.

I have seen many a world class beach in my travels, and this one is up there. Beautiful clean water, spectacular dunes and an expansive beach where you could really get away from anyone else...if there was anyone else there! We went on a Sunday early afternoon on a a perfect day and there must have been about 50 people on the whole beach. C'mon Port Elizabeth - get involved! The only downside is that it doesn't appear to be that the South Africans have adopted the practice of bagging and removing their dog poop. The walk to the beach over the dunes is well littered with this and it's a real shame.
