We always stop here for a quick bite on our way to and from Plettenberg Bay. The bathroom facilities are always kept very clean. There is plenty of choice for a quick snack before continuing on a journey.

Always stop off here because it has all the facilities you might need plus fuel and some great views of and from the bridge.

A lovely piece of architecture which is now more famous for its bungy-jumping experiences. Best to watch from the safety of the park nearby.

It's a must stop place. You can walk underneath the bridge and it's stunning. If you're not too into extremely high heights, the narrow walk across the bridge can be really scary, but you can try it and walk to near the middle if you're brave. Amazing scenery.

A quick comfort break whilst on an organized tour saw us enjoy the spectacular view down into the Storms River Gorge despite constant rain - you can walk underneath the road bridge (where it is sheltered from the elements and road noise) to take good photographs but the view is better if you walk alongside the roadway as you can effectively walk across the span.

Our visit was on the spur of the moment. We felt that the entrance fee was rather high and would have been cheaper had we been South African. However, we were not disappointed with the scenery. The beaches were clean and there were plenty of water activities. There was a huge restaurant on site also.

Famed as the location for the world's highest bungy jump, it's also a good stopping point at the beginning of the Garden Route. There's a cafe with commanding views of the gorge and the bridge.

Walking over the bridge gives you a great and spectacular view. Worthwhile stopping if you pass. Take about half an hour to walk over the bridge on both sides.

Just outside of Port Elizabeth you can take a scenic drive to one of the highest bridges in South Africa. The best view is from the bottom looking up at the bridge. You will need to turn off into the pass or go over the bridge and take the next off ramp and go back. The drive in the pass is very scenic and you can find a spot to park at the bottom of the pass and look up at the bridge.

This is well worth a visit, both for dramatic views from the bridge into the Storms River Gorge, and for an appreciation of the fantastic feat of engineering in an era before lasers, GPS, and computers.
