Tldr: book this trip already!!🤩
I would 100% recommend this experience. We did our 3 day garden route tour from CPT to Port Elizabeth. Everything about my experience with Umzantsi was great.
The trip was arranged on short notice and they were able to organize and deliver the most memorable experience ever. The communication and the logistics by Umzantsi were very well done.
Peter Haller, our Tour guide was awesome. He knows a lot about the landscape as well as both the current and historical information about the towns/places along the route. It was just so much fun having him as our tour guide and getting all the interesting information from him. He made sure that we saw and experienced all the amazing places along the way. It is really a very rewarding and memorable tour.

What a stunning time with a wonderdul guide. Port Elizabeth is beautiful and Umzansti really have alot of knowledge of the history and some really lovely spots from restaurants, to penguin sanctuary, Addo Elephant Park where we saw close up elephants and zebras and some other wonderdul wild life, to the beautiful beaches fit for beautiful sunsets. Highly recommended.

Having a small group of just 4 we were able to go to parts of the Addo Elephant Park off limits to others in larger groups. We did miss not being in an open Jeep because your vision was somewhat restricted by the van windows, but other than this, the tour was great and the guide very knowledgeable. It is important to note you are not allowed to get out of your vehicle. Lunch at the park cafe was delicious but very slow.

Dear John
Thanks for the review. So glad to hear you enjoyed the tour and found the guide to be knowledgeable. Always good to hear. When the ships are in the Addo Park is so busy that the restaurant is rushed off their feet but as long as you saw our elephants and other animals in the park that is the main part of the tour.
Thanks and do go well. Hope to see you in SA again in the near future.

We took the 3 Day Garden Route Private and Exclusive Tour with Umzantsi Afrika Tours and are so happy we did! The night we arrived in Port Elizabeth, Lyn, the owner, picked us up at the airport and drove us to the B&B she selected for us. It was a lovely place, as were all the other B&Bs on this trip. Besides setting up this tour, she also offered and made arrangements for excursions and hotels in St. Lucija, which we really appreciated. The next morning we were greeted by our wonderful tour guide and companion for the next three days, Deon. Not only is he a trained and knowledgeable guide, but his personal interest in history brings so much more to the trip. Deon took care of everything and made sure that we were comfortable, happy, and relaxed, and that our time was used efficiently so we got the most out of the three days. He is also very personable and fun and made this a memorable experience for us. We were sorry to see him leave when our tour ended! We highly recommend both this tour company and our tour guide.

Dear David & Irene
Thank you so much for your lovely review and we are so glad to hear you had a good time which is what we strive for. I knew you would enjoy Deon, the guide, as he has a wonderful sense of humour, matching yours so I can imagine it was a laugh a minute.
I do like to meet our clients so if they land in Port Elizabeth where we are based, I always meet them and have a chat.
We look forward to meeting again sometime in the future and in the meantime, keep well.
Best wishes

Fantastic tour with Lyn at Umzantsi tours. We found that we had more time that expected in PE and booked the tour last minute. Lyn and Thuli were really helpful in organising it for us, especially at the late notice. Our tour started out with a lovely coastal drive and Lyn was able to give lots of information and the history of the areas we drove through. Very dramatic rocky coastline and the biggest sand dune that I have ever seen. We then headed to the Kragga game reserve and got to see a abundance of animals all at very close range. Our tour highlights were watching the baby white rhino and mother about 10ft (if that) from our vehicle. We were able to gets lots of great pictures and ended up turning of the engine and watching the rhinos for about 10min. Beautiful sight. The other highlight was seeing the wild cheetahs, we were able to sit and watch a pack of about 8 cheetahs play in the grass.
Lyn was a fantastic guide who knew a lot about the animals, area and history of PE and SA. We had a great time and would definitely recommend Umzantsi tours.

We were collected on time from the port and did the half day city tour with Alex who was a mine of information. He had a very open mind and talked freely about the problems and positive aspects of life. Unfortunately, my wife was unwell but he returned her to the ship without fuss and we continued the tour visiting all the scheduled itinerary and more. I was then returned to the ship in good time. It was a real pleasure to travel with Alex

We booked a 5 day tour from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town along the Garden Route with Uzmanti. We loved the tour. We stayed at lovely properties in various locations along the route and really enjoyed the experiences especially in the smaller B&B locations. Our driver was fun, flexible and very helpful. Lyn and Tanielle who worked the arrangements for us were great to deal with and it was lovely to meet Tanielle when we first started our tour in Port Elizabeth, I would highly recommend this small local tour company for booking garden route tours or shore excursions while visiting SA on cruises. They also set up some excellent tours for us in Johannesburg. I will certainly utilize their services again if we return to South Africa.

Wonderful!!!
Flexible, customizable, and comfortable.
Guide was knowledgeable, supportive, and easy to be with. Took care of all logistics, which allowed us to fully relax and take in our experiences without worrying about logistics. Booked us amazing accommodations, had great restaurant recommendations locally, and was able to incorporate all our desired highlights and some unexpected treats along the way! Highly recommend Umzantsi.

Would it be possible to see leopards one day just for me?
Written 25 June 2017
I shall do my utmost best but you have to bear in mind that these animals are living free in the Addo Elephant National Park and on the game reserves so there can never be a guarantee of what sightings we will see that can only happen in a zoo. Lets hold thumbs for the next visit to SA
Thanks and go well
