This is a wonderful way to experience a day of "safari" without going far from Port Elizabeth. The game reserve is stocked and you will see many animals in their "natural habitat". The experience is not like safari in a NP where the animals have more space to exist and sightings are not guaranteed. The jeep ride was comfortable (6 guests) and our guide "Ronnie Sr" was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and personable. The dinner experience was fun - warm fires, good conversation and plentiful, tasty food (veg and non). Afterwards we enjoyed another drive to see which animals are active in the dark. Overall a great way to see the animals in a lovely park!

We were take on in four groups by 4 guides. They radioed each other to let each other know where the wild animals were. We saw lions including two males and a female and 2 babies. Lots of elephants too but the lions were the favorite. Magnificent!! After the safari we were treated to a bbq buffet dinner with our drivers so we’re could ask more questions and test they knowledge. Do COOL

This was something I’ve always wanted to do and it was the best experience of the trip. After a warm welcome from our guide Charl, we set off and had our minds blown. 6 hours of sightings with elephants, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, impala, wildebeests, crocodiles, and some others I couldn’t name. We even managed to find a pride of lions after a quick drive to the other side of the reserve. Then back for a comforting home-cooked meal made by the owners Jenny and Peter with a glass of wine while we watched the elephants take a mud bath as the sun set. We finished off with a night viewing of a porcupine (quite rare). Charl was an exceptional guide who was engaging, entertaining, informative and whose main aim was obviously to give his guests the best experience of their lives.
Wouldn’t have changed anything and will never forget the day.

Visited for a one night stay and Addo tour the following day.
Saw lots of wildlife and was very well guided by Kurt at Schotia and Scott at Addo. Very fortunate to see the 3 lion cubs plus parents on both drives as well as a crocodile coming out of the waterhole and going under our vehicle to the other side. This was apart from all the other stuff we saw, these were the highlights!
Having been at a place near Mossel Bay two years ago which was so contrived with the animals as to make it more like a zoo, I was somewhat sceptical about this one, (We were also at Shamwari some years ago) however it turned out very well .
