About
A creative shopping experience built around a 19th Century trading store. It is a landmark destination in the Garden Route with shops, studios, and workshops showcasing the extraordinary and inspiring connection between ancient crafts, innovative small-scale manufacturing and contemporary design. The Village is an unexpected and fascinating architectural mix of wonderful gardens and a unique group of individual creators. Old Nick Village is also the home of Mungo and houses its flagship store and the Mungo Mill which is open to the public.

Fun Wednesday Market
Apr 2021 • Couples
We went through to the recommended Wednesday Market. Loads of different things to see and eat. Loved the unique goods available for purchase from t-shirts to bracelets to homemade baked goods. Really worth the time to have a walk through and to support local products & businesses.

Good stop off place
Mar 2020
An interesting place to look around a number of small shops and boutiques. Service at the cafe on the slow side. Wide variety of products to choose from.

Horrible Service
Feb 2020 • Couples
Had breakfast at the restaurant, our coffee arrived without any sugar, we asked the waiter for some sugar but had to go and get it myself an half an hour later when the coffee was already cold. The breakfast came about an hour in, my husband ordered toast but his came with ciabatta, we decided to leave it as we were waiting for an hour already, had to ask for butter again. The waiter never offered any sauces for the breakfast nether did he ever come back to offer any additional drinks. We were on our way an hour and a half later, I will never stop over at Old Nick Village again...

recommended stop off. Nice boutiques and great cafe
Jan 2020
Recommended as a stop off by our hotel. Nice wander around some interesting small shops/boutiques - which sold some wonderful crafts and other goods although it did seem quite expensive.

Lovely grounds and we had a light lunch at the cafe sat outside. We weren't in any hurry so weren't paying much attention to the service speed but I suspect if one was in a hurry it might not have been quick enough!

Excellent food and drink. Coffee superb - so much so I bought a couple of bags of beans. We bought a brownie to eat later which was awesome! A great place to eat as long as you're not in a hurry!

We enjoyed a late breakfast in the garden restaurant at Old Nick's. Good food , very health conscious menu and some unique creations. Relaxed atmosphere and great setting just off the N2

Poor Restaurant Service
Oct 2019 • Solo
When I arrived here I wanted to grab a coffee and go through all the shops. The moment I stepped inside one of the waiters looked me in the eye and turned around. Standing there waiting to be seated I decided to go through the shops and return afterwards. When I returned the same happened. I had to walk up to a waiter to ask if I can be seated... When seated I had to wait 10min before being presented with a menu while 2 waiters have walked passed me multiple times in the 10min. And so it took another 10min for someone to come take my order... And by that time I just decided to rather leave...very disappointed.

Interesting stop
Sep 2019
Old Nick Village is an interesting stop just after Plett on the way to Humansdorp. It has a selection of shops, including a chocolatier, nursery, restaurant, pottery and gift shop. We had a bite to eat at the restaurant, and the food was delicious although the service was a bit slow. There is a children's playground but be aware that it is not right next to the tables at the restaurant, so if you have small kids you have to stand close to them when they are playing, as the playground is backed by the parking lot and thus not really a safe spot to leave small children unsupervised. The highlight of Old Nick is the Mungo weavers factory which you can self-tour and see the machines in action. It is pretty cool. We also thought the nursery had a beautoful selection of plants, including some varieties you don't find everywhere. The gardens are leafy and all in all this is a wonderful spot to while away an hour or two.

A growing lifestyle centre!
Sep 2019
I am sure a lot of people can remember the original old whitewashed building with the dark roof which housed all sorts of bric a brac and antiques. This single building was the humble beginnings of the current, vibrant lifestyle centre with its many retail outlets and workshops. I particularly like the new Mungo building with its distinctive wood panels shaped like ships' sails and the nursery, well stocked with indigenous plants.
