A creative shopping experience built around a 19th Century trading store. It is a landmark destination in the Garden Route with shops, studios, and workshops showcasing the extraordinary and inspiring connection between ancient crafts, innovative small-scale manufacturing and contemporary design. The Village is an unexpected and fascinating architectural mix of wonderful gardens and a unique group of individual creators. Old Nick Village is also the home of Mungo and houses its flagship store and the Mungo Mill which is open to the public.

My wife and I did the market at Nicks recently and thought it very nice. No pressure selling which makes a change. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit

I invariably give rave reviews about everything, but not here I am afraid. We found the place a bit of a tourist trap and over pretentious. Staff were hardly friendly, and downright uninterested at the cafe. The only place where we found ourselves really welcomed was the wine shop!

Interesting place to visit. Variety of small shops to explore and just relax in the garden. The self-guided tour through the Mill was very interesting.

My wife and I attended the market here today and although fairly small it was quite interesting with the usual arts and crafts plus food and drink etc.

Over-priced, tiny portions, and overall disappointing experience…
If you want the feeling of being ripped-off, treat yourself to a meal at Nice Neighbour

Many shops selling superb handicrafts along with the Mill itself.
We purchased some terrific items - including artisan chocolate and unique souvenirs that we had not seen elsewhere.
After our visit to the Mill we bought some kitchen towels made on site.

Disappointing to say the least. No service. 3 waiters later, we got some attention. Total rip off R75 for one slice of sourdough cut in half 1 egg and 2 rushers bacon. On menu bacon and egg sandwich, you expect a sandwich. We ordered chips to share but never received it. We cancelled the chips as our bare sandwich was finished by time they apologized. Really not worth the visit.

I am surprised to read recent poor reviews of Nice Neighbour Cafe. My wife and I, together with invited guests, have eaten there three or four times in the last eighteen months and have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food is outstanding - prepared from good, fresh ingredients and, most important always delicious. All flatbreads and buns are freshly baked on the premises. The ham and mushroom pizza we had there two days ago was the best we had eaten in a long time.
The service is somewhat relaxed, so don't be in a hurry. Any wait is definitely worth it.

Old Nick Village is a great place to spend a few hours and offers a wide variety of the most lovely art and crafts. From tiny jewels to giant garden pots there is something for everyone and all in the most beautiful environment, set amongst the trees the quirky buildings invite you to explore and find treasure. The on-site cafe/ bakery serves good food not fast food and the staff are welcoming and attentive. On site parking and very easy access to the N2 makes this a great pit stop if you are passing.

The 'Nice Neighbour Cafe' at Old Nick Village in Plettenberg Bay is definitely worth missing. To start with, we ordered two cappuccinos which took forever to arrive. When I queried this with the waitress, she assured me that they would be coming soon. Eventually they arrived after 15 minutes - cold! Clearly they had been made a long time previous to being brought to our table. My partner's omelette was average. My toasted bacon and egg sandwich was the smallest I have ever seen. One egg and a single rasher of bacon on a sandwich I could cover with the palm of my hand. The featured so-called 'home-made ketchup' (i.e. tomato sauce) tasted only of vinegar. All of the above was served with average service and an exorbitant bill.
