About
Raptor Rescue Plett is a rehabilitation & awareness centre for birds of prey. We service the conservation needs of the area by providing a refuge & sanctuary for sick, injured and orphaned birds, and are committed to rehabilitate & release wherever possible. Our aim is to give the public a window into this important conservation work through our daily guided tours and flying demonstrations. Our tours take place at 10:00am, 12:00pm and 2:00pm (we are closed on Mondays except during school and public holidays) Visitors and school groups are welcome to join us for one of our tours whereby some of our non-releasable birds are free flown in their natural surroundings, allowing you an up-close and personal experience with these magnificent creatures. We do not promote any handling of our animals and public access to the centre is restricted to these time allocations. We are conveniently located off the N2, and form part of The Heath, a charming cluster of shops and quaint restaurant

As bird lovers, this is a must-do if you are on the Garden Route. We did the flying experience tour which we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff there showed that they care very much about rehabilitating these birds and releasing them when ready. They also educate the public on how to protect these birds of prey. Our guide, Mark was informative and passionate about these birds. It was cool to see a couple of owls fly so close to you. I highly recommend it!

Everything about the tour was amazing especially the way Paul interacted with the birds and how they in turn responded

What an important centre for raptor rescue - and education! My dad (in his 80s) and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the rescued birds, learning about the different species and hearing about how some can be rehabilitated, and why others can't. The fish eagles are magnificent!
The flying demo was so interesting too, seeing two different owls and a crow who has found his way to the centre.
I thoroughly recommend it and what this centre are doing.

The guide was charismatic, engaging, interesting. The center is well cared for and the cages and birds looked after.
Great place to learn about raptors. The show consisted of the barn owl, crow and another owl - they swooped very close to our heads. They was no interaction between the birds and people and the show didn’t display any of the bigger birds of prey. Show and center was enjoyable.
