We stopped in for breakfast while booking for a golf game. Well after placing our order, other parties, who had arrived after us, received and finished their meal and our order had not yet arrived. The waitress being side tracked by bar duties. After almost an hour our meal finally arrived. Already frustrated…… I had specifically asked for a hard egg, mine was served very soft, how do you mess that up! On query, we were told the delay was due to us ordering burgers! Yes, they did offer to take the meal back and cook the egg a little more…. we had waited so long, were late for another appointment so we told them no. THEN they had the cheek to charge for the egg. Oh yes, and R40 for a cappuccino! Yes, we did ensure it was a double shot… that shouldn’t be extra, that should be normal, the days of single-shot coffees are long gone. Very disappointing.

Great location and venue for a round of golf. Great views and well placed for walks and the like.
Just think twice about your choice of apartment and if you can avoid paying up front then do so. We stayed in an ok apartment but the family we travelled with stayed in Soulenti on Goose (sounds like the one mentioned in the below reviews) as it is described perfectly below.
I thought the staff at the bar and golf course were excellent.

Sadly a beautiful golf course and club house is spoiled by an absolute lack of service from the bar staff. Waiting in excess of 10 min for a drink is unacceptable.

Great place to stay , especially for a golfing break. The location is superb with walks from the site. Golf course is lovely, we played it a few times.
Not too far to Plettenberg by car.
Some of the accommodations looked good and well looked after but we had a bad experience.
HOWEVER—
Accommodation we had was bitterly disappointing Unit X3 called Soulenti on Goose. It was dreadful & bore no relation to the photos. Although it had been rated high score (only 7 reviews in 3 years!!) we couldn’t find any reason to rate it and feel we were mis-sold as it was damp, smelly and falling apart. Broken tumble dryer in a bedroom. No gas in bbq or the gas heater. Management admitted they knew of the problems.

Great place for a group getaway. We booked this break as a group having found a 4 bedroomed ground floor apartment (Unit T1) on the estate overlooking the 12 th hole online. It was ideal for one of the group that had mobility issues as the apartment was all on one level. Some of us played golf - the course is lovely with some hard holes and contrasting front and back 9 which made it interesting and a couple of the ladies enjoyed sitting on the roof terrace and shouted down to us as we passed which was fun. Really enjoyed the fact that the clubhouse had a good restaurant and bar so we didn’t have to drive in to Plett. Would definitely book there again.

Scenic course with a variety of challenges. No need to be in fear of it even if you are modest handicapper. Some longish holes but no problems as long as you can hit straight. Kept in fine condition, well marshalled. Compulsory 10 min refreshment stop halfway which is customary in these parts. Excellent clubhouse with balcony overlooking the 18th green. One or two ‘hell, how do I get out of this?’ type bunkers but most are surmountable. Teamed in to groups of 4 when busy so excellent for sole players or groups of 2 or 3.

Relatively simple golf course with beautiful greens and solid fairways but this being a Gary Player course we were expecting more. Great deal on Monday for seniors

I booked a tee time as a single player. As I had to get "on the road" that day, the guy in the pro-shop put ne out at 6.15am, ahead of those with bookings at 6.30am - so in theory I would have a quick round and not get in anybody's way.
In practice, the dreaded Germans put paid to that!
As in many other places in South Africa, they seem to think that queuing and tee times are things that only apply to other nationalities. They told me "we always go first - every day" and just pushed in front of me. And not just one group.
As in other places, the staff were apologetic (in this case refunding my green fee as I did not have the time or inclination to play behind them).
However, they need to actually stand up to this behaviour and stop the Germans just pushing their way in. I had the same problems at Boschenmeer and at de Zalze. I am sure it doesn't apply to all Germans - but at three of the courses I played in the past ten days I have had the same problem, and always with the same nationality!

Inept aggressive staff. Visitors to Clubhouse only get their order after the golfers have been served. Very veryrude manager.
