We went here on a rainy day. Had lunch and some shopping. Most shop consultant had a bad attitude and we were often treated to the point of it being very rude.
In the bargain book store we were told in a monotone to please to our kid to comply. We were like sure no problem just ask nicely.
We went and spent R1000 in the arcade and the lady was extremely rude and made me feel so unwelcome. While taking a picture I’m the booth she opened the curtains almost to check on me and my ten year old son. We decided to just leave as the staff seemed to be looking for fault with people in the arcade.
When approaching the mall my husband dropped us at the entrance. The man at the door shouted at us and said my husband must move 5 m forward. It was such an unpleasant start to our mall trip where we spent over 10k. We could just have easily turned around and went somewhere else. We will not return to this mall and it’s so sad this has given us sad a bad impression of east London. We are leaving here tomorrow and will not come back here, and never recommend this place to anyone.

I excitedly went to Hemingway mall because of the great reviews I had read about it but unfortunately, it was the worst mall I’ve ever been to. The mall was so dirty, especially by the food court, i was so disgusted! Dirt on the floor, dirt on the escalators, dirt & litter everywhere. I suggest any potential visitors DO NOT GO!

The mall, the biggest in East London, consists of all the basic stores for an enjoyable shopping experience. Parking is ample and reasonably priced. Most restaurants in the mall offer good food and service. The games arcade is a treat for everyone. The casino and cinema’s can also be found at Hemingways Mall. It gets very busy over December/January period though.

Is there a bag drop off place at Hemingway's? Going from airport to coach and have luggage, I'd like to shop but can't carry my bags.

Unfortunately Hemingways mall is far from the harbour but local and private transport are always available to visiting guests. Hope this helps.
