3 of us paid for 9 holes of golf recently.
We had wanted to play earlier and play 18 but there are only 3 sets of golf clubs for rent which is peculiar for a club trying to attract visitors.
However, our problem was that it rained heavily after 7 holes and we had to give up. We had no idea how to find our way back to the clubhouse as the 9th green is not close to the clubhouse and even though we were only ever playing 9 holes, we were never advised of the directions, given a map or advised to start on the 10th.
It took at least 20 minutes driving the buggies in poor visibility round the remaining 11 holes before arriving back at the clubhouse

We had our corporate year end function at the Olivewood restaurant over the weekend.
The Estate is truly breathtakingly beautiful with immaculate gardens and stylishly understated architecture.
We were booked for a buffet style dinner with canapés as starters.
The bar service was basically non existent and the service during dinner was sub standard. The meal was mediocre at best. I seemed as if they were understaffed and poorly prepared for us.
The hotel rooms are lovely with a practical layout, but lacks attention to detail.
The next morning our breakfast was also a disaster due to poor organisation by the catering personnel. The food was again underwhelming.

Wanted to stay there and booked a room. Still had some questions about their rules in the estate and about golf. Wrote 4 messages/ e-mails without getting any reply.
Cancelled the room then and am now staying (and playing) somewhere else.

The drive to the place was beautiful, we attended a wedding here, the place was lovely, the rooms were comfortable, the bathroom was stunning, the outside shower's were lovely to experience in the evenings or the mornings, the bathrooms were huge! there were inside showers as well. Each room had a garden that was beautifully manicured for the kids to play or to just relax, each room had their own outside furniture to relax in. I did not enjoy the lack of space in the room itself, there were not cupboard spaces, traveling with two kids, the space became rather small and no where to keep the bags. The room itself was lovely! great linen and pillows and the kids had a bed for themselves, the place had a nice play area, the beach was a walk away, the scenery was something to boast about. the reason I do not give this 5 was due to the lack of cupboard space and the noisy rooms, I had to complain a few times for the room to keep the noise down at 2 in the morning. Also do not expect good reception, I had an online meeting and the wifi did not work so come prepared.

Interesting golf course with a great coastal layout. Not busy during the week. Carts must be used as there are lots of hills.

We enjoyed Sunday lunch at the Governor's House. Five star food. What a pity management doesn't match the chef's skill. The tranquility and beautiful views were spoilt by a service provider packing up the previous day's wedding decorations - one meter from a couple trying to enjoy their picnic on the lawn. Surely service providers can be instructed to be off site when Sunday lunch starts at 12h00?!

What a wonderful menu. We were due to picnic as our first family reunion since lockdown started, but due to windy conditions we opted for a lunch under the trees overlooking the golf course. The food was delicious and the setting beautiful. The waitresses were friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back to try the dinner menu when back on the coast.

The reception was warm and very welcoming. The staff was very professional, friendly and efficient. I was pleasantly surprised.
Everyone went out of their way to make us comfortable. The food was out of this world-fresh and well prepared.
The rooms were immaculate, modern and very clean.

Our family was the first guests at Olivewood Estate & Golf Club. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The unit was pieceful and well laid out. The children loved the deer walking around on the grass. There was not enough storage space for our clothes. Especially for long stays.
Being new and not fully operational, the kitchen wasnt up to scratch with breakfast time. I trust that that has changed. The room service was excellent.
