The gallery is located at the back of Marlene's house. The gallery contains some of her best work and showcases her unique artistic development process. Copies of these are for sale in various sizes at very reasonable prices. The garden offers some additional interesting features to create a beautiful scene for an hour or two. Pleasantly surprised by the work and friendly reception received.

There aren't a lot of tourist attractions in East London but this one should be on the list for anyone who appreciates fine art. I was warmly greeted upon arrival and the manager of the gallery was so kind to show me around, tell me about Marlene's art, answer all of my questions, and ensure that I had an enjoyable visit. There are two galleries - one with black and white photographs and another that features photos that I can only describe as painterly because of the way that Marlene processes/prints them. There is some color to these prints which range from landscapes to animals to flowers. Her photos of aloes and baobabs are particularly beautiful. Her photos are available in a range of sizes and are limited edition prints. I bought several and the manager packed them for me very carefully so that they made it safely back home in my suitcase. The garden around which the gallery is built is really lovely and I spent some time there looking through Marlene's book. The gallery isn't very far off the beaten path and makes for a lovely addition to a trip to East London.

Marlene’s work is wonderful. Her technique is so interesting— you aren’t sure if you’re looking at a photo or a painting at first. She has a great eye and really captures the beauty of her subject. We took home two small prints at a very reasonable price — a lovely memento of our visit to the area. The gallery is well worth a visit. Lovely space, friendly welcome, and a feast for they eyes.

As a midling photographer this was a must-see, and well worth the effort. Marlene has developed a specific development technique that lifts her into the fine arts photography class. In her photos you can see her personality shining through, with her sense of belonging and seeing deeper captured in every photograph. She also gives some photography courses where her garden plays an integral role. Just walking through it makes you see form, function, peace and tranquility. Allow yourself time to experience both the art gallery and the garden. be careful which age group of kids you bring here, this is a more stand/ sit and experience place than a running around the garden place.

There are photographic courses and there is Marlene Neumann. This has got to be the most inspirational photographic course we have attended. It had left us inspired and has literally changed our perspective of photography as an art form. We are on a new path of having fun and finding our innermost creative juices.
