Not much to see. Need binoculars for bird hides. Dam in far distance. Needs to be populated with more wildlife.

My review refers to the game viewing area and not the Valley of Desolation. If you're looking to see lots of game and especially big game then the Camdeboo National Park isn't for you. If you enjoy the wide open spaces of the Karoo and to see some game then you will enjoy it. We saw mostly antelope species and... More

Spent one night in the tented camp. Arrived late afternoon after a long road trip. The facilites at the camp are very good and everything you need to braai is available in your own lock up locker in a very well equipped communal kitchen even a potjie pot!! Views in the Valley of Desolation are breathtaking. The circular "Lizard" trail... More

We booked an overnight stay as part of a road trip from Gauteng to Cape Town. We would have extended our stay at the Lakeview Tented Camp if we had time. The amenities were clean and the situation of the tent great. The beauty of the Valley of Desolation at sunset was breathtaking. The facilities for cooking and cleaning up... More

Tar road up to the main attraction of the Valley of Desolation parking, then a little bit of a walk to the photo area, ensur you have suitable footwear as certain area's are a bit tricky. Toilet handy near the parking also.

We travelled to graaff reinet as part of our Cape road trip. Decided to visit the park not knowing what to expect. It was an amazing experience and I will plan another trip here as the two hours we spent didn't do justice. The Valley of desolation is incredible, the views and the sunset hard to describe as is the... More

Save your time and go to some other park because this one has little to see in a flat terrain. Even the ranger looked embarrassed to be letting us in!

A relatively new reserve. Not very big but most enjoyable and well managed. Lovely picnic area within the park.

We initially planned to camp over here, but limited it to a day visit. The NP is quite new, as is also the campsite (all on gravel), during our visit we took a peek and saw that no one was camping that day. Campsites although seem to have great privacy. We changed our mind on staying here because of the... More
