A very impressive walk over the Wasilla creek wetlands. Walked it with the whole family and was very easy for our 3 year old.
Seems it's a bit of a wasted potential. Should make it longer and maybe have a circular track and not a...More
A floating boardwalk through the wetlands that is super cool! As others have mentioned, it can be narrow and a little shaky/squeaky but you really feel like you're alone in nature.
I had a lot of trouble finding it, likely a combination of the address...More
This is a nice short stroll on a rather narrow boardwalk thru a marshy area that follows the creek. It's definitely moose habitat, but we were there in the afternoon, so no moose seen. Mosquitos not bad in mid may but I'm sure would be...More
In mid October my wife and I walked this trail with out two grandchildren, ages 3 and 4. There lots of things for them to discover and the environment was beautiful. We spent a little over two hours there just taking our time. We will...More
If you are a tourist or even a local. This camp ground is huge. Fire pits. Ample parking. Big shed for parties. Quiet, off road form Parks Highway. Can walk to the lake but it's nothing to see. It's a wonderful peaceful secluded park.
This boardwalk is a nice walk out into the Palmer Hayflats. You will hear the rustling of the breeze and the birds in the trees as you walk through nature. The walk ends with an amazing view of Pioneer Peak and all that surrounds it....More
Nice one mile round trip hike on a newly built walkway. We walk it almost every day. It runs parallel to Wasilla Creek. We encountered a moose a couple of weeks ago, it was across the creek from us. The walkway was built by Great...More
The trail seems to be a hidden gem that has yet to be discovered by locals other than nearby residents. There's also nearby geocaches to enhance the adventure. The parking area is small and free with some work still being done but the trail is...More
This is a 'nature trail' that is elevated above the wetlands of Wasilla Creek as it flows into and through the Palmer Hay Flats. The 'boardwalk' is about 1/2 mile long and nearly parallels the creek to a point in the hayflats where there a...More
