Combine this with a visit to the Iditarod museum also in Wasilla and you get a real sense of life here. The murals going down to the mining exhibit are noteworthy also.

Saw many nice things. Went to visit on Friday and found out Fridays are free so that was nice. There was a elderly man there named Corky that explained some of the displays. He was really nice. Told us he graduated in that building. I...More

Staff very friendly but lots of items didn't have explanations of what they were. Hopefully the quality will go up when they are moved. Boxes all over the place so couldn't see some displays. Great explanation of the Iditarod.

Tiny two floor building with loads of interesting facts about history and people who have helped make Alaska what it is today. Admission happened to be free that day since the other buildings were not open. The staff was very friendly and helpful and answered...More

Small building but lots of information packed into it. It's host local culture, mining - dog sledding - people that influence there area - staff friendly - every thing well presented - worth a stop if in the area!

Cute museum detailing how and when Iditarod came to town. Three dollar donation. Has a small store and other buildings that were relocated across the street from museum. Old one room school house, the post office, etc.
