This 17th century convent has a lovely baroque facade. We did not go into the museum but enjoyed sitting and listening to the organ music.

If you are interested in St Teresa of Avila, you have to visit this church built over her birthplace. It has a small but interesting museum attached - with gift shop!

Interesting story behind St. Theresa of Avila. This convent was built around her home and has many vignettes depicting her early life in Avila. Also a bronze sculpture of her in front of the convent where some Catholics come to offer prayers.

Santa Teresa is key to the history of Avila so you should make a point of seeing where she spent years praying. Very beautiful with plenty of interesting artefacts and history. Great gift shop too with beautiful books.

This site and square was one of the major attractions in Avila. The adjioning shop and museum was well worthwhile visiting. Interesting history and free entry into the convent/church but must be dressed appropriately.
