Having enjoyed the fab jade and gloomy atmosphere of the Jade Museum, stroll up to Al Mercat (opens midday) for an outstanding lunch and take in this lovely old railway station on the way. It still welcomes a few trains a day, and the presence...More

Very well preserved train station that served and still serves as the main station for all the people and commerce going and coming from the port of Limón in the Atlantic. Admire the architecture and a small display of antiques. Make it part of your...More

A nice historic and still in operation train station near National Park. Beautiful outside building. It is too bad that the place is locked when no trains are coming and going. It is a nice place to look at, and is also located near 17th...More

The height of budget railroad technology, sixty or seventy years ago perhaps. Interesting building and facility, and a little more visually pleasing than its sister Pacific Rail Station across downtown. But observe and be amazed at the creaky old narrow gauge tracks wending their way...More

We viewed this train from our bus tour of downtown San Jose. It was difficult to take pictures with the fence enclosure. Brick sidewalk was nice and was great to see a part of Costa Rica history. Glad they have preserved this train.

Beautiful architecture. Lovely history. This is a nice building to look at and read up on the jungle train history. I took the train from here many times when it was operative from San Jose to Limon in the early 1980s. Brought back many memories....More

You may as well just drive by this because the train station is not open and the train is caged in and very difficult to even take pictures of it through the fence. There is very little information except on a plaque by the train...More
