In going to this cemetery, I was influenced by the fact that I have family buried here. Aside from that, some of the structures are incredibly beautiful and one does wonder who they belong to. Maybe my family members knew who they were as in...More

It was a very long walk through this major cemetery, I spent one hour here, and saw many mausoleums, of famous Costa Rican Politicians, and businessmen

We went here in 2015 and were fascinated by the tombs & mausoleums - some are 'over the top'. Huge peaceful area to enjoy on your walkabout town.

People are buried here since the late 18th century. Most are of Spanish origine, but you also see Italian family graves and tombs of many other ethnicities. No native Costa Ricans, at least I did not find any. Remarkable are the great number of guardian...More

Many impressive statuettes are to find at this cemetery - it's huge and very white and good for a quiet walk.

The cemetery is a quiet place with different headstones. You will be free to walk around and there are signs showing the most interesting path you can take, as well as historical figures buried there. If you like these places, it could be worth the...More

It is a typical, big cemetary similar to many others in South America. The stone work and statues are impressive. But, unless you are into it and interested in who is buried where, just drive by and have a look at the massive graves and...More

There are some large masoleums and interesting headstones but nothing to merit a special trip or to take time out of a busy trip schedule. Do be careful about walking around here as it is not in the best area of town. If you drive...More
