If you are interested in indigenous art and something different from your run of the mill Costa Rican mass souvenirs, this place is worth a visit. From palm ivory to wood to oil canvases, there is a range of well made handicrafts.

The quality varies but the selection is very broad and there is some hard to find stuff such as carving from Palm ivory. Worth a visit when in central San jose. Helpful staff and you are helping indigenous people.

So, last June,it was at least my 15 th visit to Namu. I've been around Costa Rica for 40 years. This place is authentic. Shop owners are implicated in the native communities. It is fair trade. I've seen other shops . I've been harassed by...More

This shop has a huge selection of native Costa Rican and mesoamerican art for sale. Prices are reasonable and the shop keepers friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

Superior tourist rubbish.....well overpriced and often very crudely made. I was very disappointed after the reviews.

I’m surprised this is rated the #1 thing to do in San Jose. I wouldn’t call it a gallery, but definitely the most appealing artwork available for purchase I have seen during my two weeks in Costa Rica.

This is an incredible gallery store. The owner has amassed a dazzling collection of indigenous art, ceramics, textiles and weaving from all corners of Central America. Prices are reasonable and fair trade. Not to be missed.

The range of Brunka/Boruca masks here is incredible. We weren't going to manage driving all the way to the village on our trip (sadly) and this gallery had by far the best range, both on quality, variety and number. Yes, they are more expensive than...More

This small Galeria is chock full of excellent pieces from different regions and time periods. You will be able to purchase some of the pre-Columbian pieces shown in the Jade Museum. Reasonably priced and excellent quality. It's tucked away by the Holiday Inn.

There is no ticket needed to enter the gallery/shop. If you drive, there is a parking lot across the street which charges very little to park.
