We had a great guide I think her name was Caro and she shared so much information we would not have read in any guide book. She also gave a tip for a restaurant which we visited after the tour. We saw all the important buildings and it’s always great been guided by a local as they have inside information that gives a different perspective on the place and allows the traveller to see it through different eyes. Would 100% recommend this activity if you are passing a day or two in San Jose.

This was a great introduction to the city! Carolina was lovely and engaging and knew lots about her city, really helping us to understand more than what we could see. Highly recommended

Enjoyed the enthusiasm of our guide, ISO and the opportunity to explore San Jose with a knowledgeable guide. She did a great job of stopping and keeping a large group intact while explaining what we were looking at. However, she spent too much time talking about issues only pertinent to Costa Ricans and too much detail on some historical events. We would have benefitted from walking through the central market (for example) rather than mentioning it was there. I would have enjoyed it more if she talked less and showed more.

I enjoyed the tour. I've been to CR several times, but never had a chance to explore San Jose itself. Unfortunately, I had to leave the tour slightly early due to a meeting. JP (or PL), (the guide) was knowledgeable, but I thought a bit verbose at times. Also, I don't care for a stop to be named as a free museum, when the stop is really a shop for locally made handicrafts. Call it what it is. (And if you're into locally made gifts, this is a great stop as well as a rest stop).

Absolutely fantastic experience! My partner and I joined the San Jose free walking tour and were blown away by the depth of knowledge and enthusiasm of our guide, Iso. Her passion for the city was infectious, and her attention to detail ensured we didn't miss a beat. From hidden gems to iconic landmarks, Iso's insights made every step of the tour engaging and informative. We walked away with a newfound appreciation for San Jose's rich history and vibrant culture. Kudos to Iso for going above and beyond to make this tour a memorable highlight of our trip. Highly recommend to anyone visiting San Jose!

My tour with Isa was incredible! I learnt so much about Costa Rican culture, history and food. We visited many different places close to the centre of San Jose and Isa gave so many great tips on where to eat and what foods to try. I would recommend this tour to absolutely anyone; I personally went by myself and felt very included and everyone in the group was lovely. It would also be great for families or anyone who wants to learn more about Costa Rica from a local guide.

Thank you so much. A very informative and enjoyable tour. It was good to learn more about this fascinating city. We went to the National Museum the next day which with the tour gave us a good insight into the country. Thank you for your detailed tour.

Our guide Isa was friendly and full of information and tourist recommendations. We enjoyed the tour but, honestly, didn’t find San Jose all that fascinating. We were there for a day before a tour so it was a good way to spend a morning.
If you can skip San Jose, I would.

Hi, is the path for the tour mostly stroller friendly? It would be useful if anyone can share their experience if they participated in the tour with a stroller. Thanks!

If you registered for the free walking tour they would have sent you a confirming email - so they would have your email Address. After I had finished the wal they sent me another email with an evaluation I filled in and sent. If you do not get such an email I guess you could go to their website and search!! 😊

This walking tour was in English and Spanish for us. However, they normally have one in English only and another one in Spanish but one of the guides was missing the day we did it so the guide did both languages.
