Since 2005, SAMARITAN XOCOLATA fine, handcrafted chocolates and chocolate products made in Costa Rica’s Southern Zone. We are in a rural community at the foot of Mt.Chirripo, we lovingly make high-quality artisan chocolates using organic, local and premium ingredients. From bean-to-bar, we offer chocolate making workshops for 2-10 people ($40 USD/pp).We have a retail shop open to the public.

This chocolate is of extremely high quality. You pay for what you get and we shop here yearly. This year were delighted to try the homemade ice cream, our favorite being cafe mocha chip. It too was outstanding.

Hands made and very unique combinations mixing from tropical fruits to maple syrup. Prices are a little over the top but you are getting high quality chocolate. Cash only thou

Wonderful quality, high prices, unwelcoming owner. Have coffee, soaps etc. Small local and organic gifts. Nice place, but unwelcoming atmosphere.More

I didn't know chocolate could taste so good. Would never have thought of putting some of those mixtures together but they really work. I have tasted the chocolate in many places .

Our group of 2 adults and 5 teen girls were treated to a customized class with Tao where we dabbled on a bunch of different areas of chocolate making from decorating bars to tempering the chocolate to molding and filling bon bond...with some impromptu chocolate...More

Wonderful, lovingly handmade chocolates...yummy truffles...This is a stop you must make when you are in the area near CHirripo. And if you climbed Chirripo, its a great treat for all that hard work!
