Is one of oldest building of the capital San Jose. It is not too big but inside is pretty. It is located one block from Teatro Nacional.

Historic landmark, awesome layout, good acoustic, great Staff, but a bit dated, not comfortable seats and lack of AC or decent ventilation.

As an more affordable alternative to the National Theater the goverment in the 80´s bought this old and abandon Movie Theater to to build a popular one. For music concerts of popular music and good dance presentations is a good place to look for.

Good acoustic from anywhere in the theater kind of old and requires some maintenance, but is a good place to go see events.

Not as posh as Teatro Nacional, Melico never dissapoints. Shows are on time, the clientelle is more varied and less snob than TN and the location is just as convenient. The top floor is OK just make sure that you arrive at least 1 hour...More
