We visited here after a bike and hike tour in the area. Our guide rounded up done coconuts to drink and eat.

We combined Playa Matapolo with a jungle hike where we were saw abundant wildlife and vegetation. Matapalo had wildly amazing surf and the beach was deserted. It was like we were at the end of the earth and had the entire place to ourselves. So...More

If you get approached by the guy that says his surf business is slow right now so he’s offering to climb a tree and get you a coconut for $1, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. He’s a thief and he ended up following us to playa Linda (about...More

There were very few people on the beach. You could walk for miles. We found lots of Sand Dollars but they are very fragile.

This is a kind of place that is not for every one. If you are looking for a fancy and sophistication, this is not a place. This is the place to scape for everything and everyone. Plenty of sand, rocks, and waves.

No crowds and no noises in order to let you enjoy the Pacific Ocean and the waves only for you. A short walk let you forget all the stress you might have.

I would think that this is one of Costa Rica’s top hidden secrets. The beach stretches for literally miles in either direction and there are barely any people around. Check it our for yourself! You will not be disappointed!

A gem of a beach. Unspoilt, secluded, used by locals and guests from the RIU hotels. Wildlife aplenty so take the time to explore what it has to offer.

No, this is not a place for swimming. Even in the fore-shore is heavy swell and the sea water like along many parts of the pacific coast is not clean.
