We stayed for 2 nights, lots of wildlife. We slept with an iguana in our room which may terrify some folks but he just wanted to cool off under our bed and I don’t blame him. Lots of food choices. Only a couple restaurants with...More

This little surf village was bustling and very popular. Quaint bars and restaurants and a nice clean beach that is very popular for surfing.

Stay away if you’re going there as a couple. It is not safe. Locals are resentful of tourists and young scums are looking for trouble. They are agressive towards tourists men and on edge.

This beach is perfect for young children. Tide is way out so the gradual roll of water is perfect. Nice restaurants and coffee shops right on waters edge to watch sunset from. Surfing right out at break if that is your thing.

Surfing here while the sun sets is amazing and I highly recommend it. We surfed here every day for a week and it didn't disappoint.

My wife and I stayed at Capitan Suizo hotel near the end of the beach. The beach is wide and clean, relatively quiet recognizing that the beach is effectively used for swimming, surfing (and classes), yoga, horseback riding, and simple exploring. The water was warm...More

We stayed at Villa Verde II in Tamarindo. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach and close to downtown.
