My family and me; we really enjoyed the visit that just we did this weekend; ...to this Amazing and awesome rain forest that reserve is the BEST we spent so; much time with José Luis ; that guide showed in the Bird early walk; he spotled for Us Toucans; And others tropical Birds; the best was the view to the arenal Volcano and being on the hanging bridges with the best view.
our guide (charge Us only $19.50 (including the entrance free And his guide service per person our two Young kids were free And at night time we país only $10 p.p for the night tour.). . And then After We Went for lunch. And we come back to do a night walk and see Nocturnal Wild Life Such Agoutis; kinkanjou and owls; etc.

We booked this tour through Anywhere.com. The tour guide was excellent. Has we climbed up the mountainside, various tropical plants were pointed out such as orchids. We were directed to the leaf cutting ants and how they live. The climb was quite steep. Unfortunately we only got to see 20% of the volcano due to the mist and clouds.

But well worth the climb.

We had a great hike and outstanding guide who took the time explain lots, his name was Byron. It was only a few miles but the fog only lifted for a bit till it came back so seeing the volcano was impossible that day.

This hike was pretty fun and we got to see plenty as we ventured further and further into the rainforest. If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous you can see the lava field and climb on the rocks. It’s a little more strenuous but not too bad.

It is an amazing place, with so much to see and to do. Everything is close, however, the routes are narrow and somethimes dirth routes, so it take a little longer to go place to place, but you are in Costa Rica surrounded by nature, just enjoy the beauty and have a unique, authentic experience.

Gate 1's local guide did an excellent job of interpreting the area and explaining all about the flora and fauna. The trees and plants are amazing as they all depend on one another, as do the birds, insects, etc.

Mostly horizontal, wide paths. A little care needed when walking among lava rocks at end of trails. Fine 400 yrs old Ceiba tree on the longer circuit. Did not see many animals, besides colourful little snake, but the rain forest atmosphere is always suggestive.

Is beautiful and green but not the best we saw in Costa Rica. Also, 15$ for the entrance fee is really expensive.
