Great experience for the money. The thermal springs were amazingly relaxing. The grounds were clean and well kept. Dinner was simple but good. Compared to other local options (from free to very expensive) for the price this was the perfect choice!

    Relaxing and enjoyable
Even though it was rainy, this was very enjoyable. In fact some folks say it is better in a light rain as it cools you off while you are in the hot water pools. There are several pools, left to right up to down, hotter to cooler. Some are large some are small. Some have seats, some even have loungers. There is a bar, and folks come around for service as well. We also had the buffet dinner. It was nice and I do recommend earlier rather than later. Large tour groups tend to come in which can make it difficult. It was very relaxing.

    A Fabulous Experience!
We loved our experience at Ecotermales Fortuna! We went around 5 pm for the evening time slot and it wasn’t too crowded at first. As the night went on, more people did arrive, but it never felt overly crowded. There are several pools of various temperatures to soak in, some with cascading waterfalls, and one with a black sand bottom. We went in them all and it was really fun. The drinks that you order from the bar are delicious and are delivered to you in the pools. Nearly everyone there was ordering drinks…the pina colada was really good! After a couple of hours soaking in the pools and watching the sun go down, we changed into our clothes and headed to the restaurant where we had a delicious dinner. We loved our time at Ecotermales and highly recommend it!

A relaxing end to the day in a magical setting, all affordable!
A relaxing end to the day, affordable price for the impressive green setting. Relaxing, perfect welcome, classic buffet meal (not great but that’s not why we go there!) Top notch and affordable cocktail. We highly recommend it for a magical evening!

Hot springs: Ecotermales Fortuna: A Memorable Hot Soak!
A trip to Costa Rica is not complete without a visit to La Fortuna, Arenal, and the hot springs. La Fortuna is a hopping tourist town with an abundance of shops and restaurants. Arenal stands above it all smoking majestically and pumping out prodigious amounts of hot water, which a variety of resorts divert into their facilities. We visited Ecotermales Fortuna in the evening for a tasty buffet dinner before exploring the variety of hot spring pools. We met some nice people during our soak and emerged totally relaxed.

Hot springs, cool drinks at Ecotermales.
We booked an evening slot from 5 - 9:30 pm. We arrived along with a large group of people (tour buses), so reception had a lot to handle. The result was that reception was not as welcoming as we'd imagined they could be. That said, the place is clean, organized, has lockers and shower area and a very nice buffet-style eating area (in which they wisely stagger eating times for groups, which makes it nice). The hot spring area is nice, with different temperature pools - ranging from quite hot to cool...and they have "cooling" pools to give you a break from the heat. Staff serves drinks poolside. Overall, a nice experience, but for our tastes, a bit too many people in the pools. Would be really nice if you were lucky enough to hit it when there were less people. Still, worth a visit and fun. Note: you need to be dressed and dry to go into the eating area, so you should give some thought to when you want to eat.

    A must in La Fortuna
Wonderful experience at the hot springs. The value was terrific for a family of four. We chose the early morning session and arrived promptly at 10am on a Sunday. Parking was easy as was the check in process. Lockers, showers, and towels are provided. We didn’t have any food while on property but we did enjoy the bar. Service at the bar was a little slow with just one bar tender. Would recommend the mojito as it was the best drink out of all the we picked. The hot springs are not huge but there is a variety of different temperatures. If you are looking for more romantic I would suggest going in the evening. The only drawback is chairs around the hot springs, there really isn’t enough for everyone. We found a few hours to be more then enough time to enjoy

    A peaceful haven….
It was a toss up for me between EcoTermales & Tabacon as my travel agent recommended either, but I’m so pleased I opted for this venue as it proved a wonderful experience, great value for money & a highlight of our our stay in La Fortuna. We had hoped to snag an eve slot but they had all gone, but in hindsight you may not fully appreciate the beauty of the setting at night?! We arrived early just before the opening time of 10.00, mindful that it was a hot sunny day so we wanted to ensure we grabbed a couple of loungers offering shade - this proved a very wise decision as others arriving much later were offered very little protection from the sun other than to take shade in the bar. Talking of which I decided against the inclusive buffet lunch option & opted to buy lunch at the poolside bar, which proved such a right decision, as you get to stay by the pools, the food was amazing & much better value…. oh & the cocktails poolside are also great!

    Easy Peaceful Feeling.
As soon as we claimed our loungers and walked into the first pool, we felt all our cares and stresses just fade away. The lunch was amazing and the presentation beautiful. We watched the antics of two Great Currasows and we just didn't want to leave.

A Little Pricey But Worth It
We visited the Eco Termales as part of a Gate 1 Tour. It was very enjoyable and relaxing and a bit of a splurge option on our tour. It’s not cheap to go here, but we considered this a small price to pay to pamper ourselves. We went early evening to enjoy the pools and enjoyed a buffet dinner included in the price. We started at the coolest pool, and worked up to the hottest. We felt the hottest was a little too hot. The hottest pool was also very shallow, where you need to sit in it to cover you. We liked the middle pool which was comfortably hot and still deep enough. They tell you not to shower for at least overnight to the next day, this allows for the maximum spa experience. Our skin felt so wonderfully soft after getting out of the pools, and for days afterwards! The buffet was pretty expansive, and had many choices, literally something for everyone. The drinks were also a little pricey, but they were large and very unique and tasty. Reservations are needed as they control the number of visitors. That keeps the visitor numbers reasonable and enhances the experience. This place is really beautiful and tranquil, nestled in the middle of a tropical forest. It is also very clean and well organized, lots of towels, lockers and changing areas. Eco Termales was a lovely, relaxing experience. Highly recommend!
Hello, thank you for sharing your wonderful experience at Eco Termales! We're thrilled to hear that you found your visit enjoyable and relaxing, and that you appreciated the variety and quality of our buffet dinner. We're glad you enjoyed the different temperature pools and that your skin felt soft and rejuvenated after your time with us. We appreciate your feedback on the drink prices and pool temperatures. Your comments help us to continually improve our services. We take pride in maintaining a beautiful and tranquil environment, and we're pleased that our reservation system and facilities met your expectations. Thank you for recommending us! We hope to welcome you back for another pampering and serene experience in the future.

We (family with triplets aged ten) loved our evening at the hot springs. We’d zip wired down the volcano in the morning, then climbed up it in the afternoon, so were ready for some chill time.

We probably visited on one of the busiest days of the year - 30/12 - but the crowds didn’t detract from the experience. Even the coolest pool is pretty hot, so I’d recommend an evening visit as you’d get cooked if the sun was blasting down too.

The on-site restaurant was great. Lots of choice and tasty food, particularly good considering it was catering for the masses.

Definitely worth a visit, if only for the pure novelty factor.

After hiking two days straight Ecotemales was the perfect place to relax and pamper my sore muscles. Each pool was a different temperature. Start off cool and work your way up to the warmest ones. We went early in the morning so it wasn't very crowded at all. we heard in the evening time it gets busier. There were lockers to keep things safe,

Our only remark would be the lunch they provided wasn't our favorite meal but the staff was very nice and the pina colada we had int the water was amazing!

My husband and I had 5pm reservations here, but arrived 30 mins early and they let us in. The first hour was perfect, it was so beautiful, quiet and romantic. The natural greenery surrounding the pools was stunning. I ordered a most delicious frozen drink that was so refreshing in the hot water. Unfortunately, an hour into our soak, a group of about 30 people arrived together, and they were loud and obnoxious. They were all in their fifties, but acted like children. It kind of ruined the experience for us after that. Of course, this is no fault of the facility, but it would have been nice if they had staff to remind guests to settle down.....which seems like it shouldn’t be necessary when we’re dealing with adults, but unfortunately, it was that day. Aside from those obnoxious people, which is probably not the norm, the place was fabulous. It was clean, and well cared for. I would recommend the hot springs, especially if you’re spending your days hiking and being active. It’s a great way to unwind after a long day.

We took the night package including diner Andy got there around 17h30 and reserve for lunch for 19h.
It was a bit crowded and loud at the beginning as there was many bus tours. We are used to spa at home where you need to remain quiet and whisper.
Around 18h many people went for diner and it became much quieter. It was a great experience. However, if it was to do again I would go to the spa a bit later around 18h and would go to diner elsewhere as the buffet was not very tasty.
The drinks were good and refreshing.

Our holiday company booked this for us as part of our trip to Cost Rica while staying in La Fortuna
This was certainly one of the highlights of our trip, we had a fantastic experience with one of the staff there (i cant remember his name but he is a fellow Manchester United fan, so a top guy anyway 😉) he was super helpful and friendly and showed where the lockers are and the fresh towels and also showed us where the bar and restaurant was
The springs themselves are amazing! There are several sections to enjoy some include water falls. The natural rainforest backdrop is beautiful. Ideally you want to visit late afternoon early evening when it is getting dark, the area is tastefully lit up and make the experience all the more great!
Having read reviews of other hot springs near by, it would seem that this place is a cut above the rest as it certainly wasn't crowded and we never felt rushed or uncomfortable
Highly recommend 👍

Not sure what to say other than it was paradise on earth! The setting is gorgeous and the facilities were clean and bright. We went in early morning to noon, and avoided a crowd and the rain (it’s June and rainy season). The hot springs are surrounded by beautiful natural surroundings and paths. We didn’t try the restaurant so I can’t comment on that- but we loved the springs.

The pools are gorgeous, well-maintained, and feel great.

However, don't add the meal to your ticket. You will end up paying far more to have no choice about what you eat. It turns out, the restaurant offers a la carte menu options to anyone using the pools...which was not clear on the website at all. So we ended up feeling scammed.

The food tasted pretty good and the service was wonderful. It wasn't their fault at all (we didn't complain to any of the workers there). But they put food in front of us that cost about $5 in ingredients and charged the two of us $60 for it. The exception to the food being good was dessert--absurdly bad. And we paid more for the privilege!

The pools are wonderful and worth the money. And we would even have been happy with the food if we'd had a choice about what to order and what to pay. But nobody likes feeling scammed.

By reading reviews, seems like the crowds can be hit or miss. We went on a Monday and got there by 1030. Stayed until 2ish and there were probably only 30 other people there. It was nice and relaxing.

All the pools adjourn starting with the warmest and then it sort of feeds into the other pools, mildly cooling as it cascades down.

Due to the lack of crowds, it was awesome. Plenty of linger chairs to choose from and we enjoyed our a la carts lunch there. We went with a other couple who prepaid for their meal and they had a choice of three different entrees, but didn’t seem anything special and p ur al la carts ended up being less expensive and just as satisfying.

I went here with elder/adult family members looking for a break and just be able to relax and for them to also have a great time specially since one of my elder family members had their birthday that day.

The girl at the counter was awesome and her customer service and attention to detail was more than outstanding.

Installations are ok, but for my family where more than good.

My only concern is that we brought a tiny cake for that elder family member birthday, which the girl in the lobby understood the situation and let us went through with it since we were apart from people outside our bubble and it was just a quick birthday song.

Although the girl at the lobby was great and understandable , the little guy at the bar which is in front of the 3 springs with the bridge was disrespectful towards my family, insistent and removed the joy out of the day.

I understand there is other people in the place, that’s why we as a bubble went really apart from everyone to a table in order to not bother anyone else with our quick song birthday celebration for my elder family member. However this person went out of his way from the bar to look for us and tell us that we cannot celebrate nor eat that tiny cake.

How awful you have to be to ruin an elder persons birthday just for a tiny cake. My elder family member didn’t deserve that treatment, even less after all the anxiety COVID as caused him

Just for this annoying person that works at that bar I’m not coming back and I will never advice people to go here (Friends, family nor work peers). Not even when we needed to buy drinks he was there, only appeared to ruin the day for my family

This was a great option for hot springs. Was smaller, and when we went in mid-week afternoon wasn't crowded at all. There was plenty of parking. Check-in process was smooth and easy. Bathrooms also had changing rooms with showers. Towels and lockers were free and clean. There are several different 'pools' with differing temperatures marked on the side. Several had mini waterfalls you could sit under. There is also a restaurant, and though we didn't have food, we did have frozen drinks which were good (charged to the number of your wrist band and paid for when you check out). Overall a very enjoyable experience.
