Very pretty place that is rich in history and in learning. Well worth a trip there, and lots of stuff to do on the island as well!

Great historic location to visit while on Dauphin Island. It is shameful the state of Alabama does not help fund the place, so locals should petition Alabama state politicians to throw some money at this location. We enjoyed having the whole place to ourselves, and the self guided tour is very nicely laid out and easy to follow. Learned a lot! Definitely worth a stop if you are staying on DI. The views of the gulf and bay from the top of the fort are beautiful as well.
