I love to visit local markets to check out the local produce, and this market does not disappoint! Can easily spend a few hours browsing and eating there.

Inexpensive and great place to shop for dried seafood and fruits and street food. Its next to a clothing, bed linen market and we bought buckwheat pillows for between USD 10-20. I come from Singapore where the cheapest buckwheat pillow cost me $70.

Personally I love markets and I love local stuff. Its huge, so don't expect to see it all unless you are booking it. This isn't the place to stop if you are visiting but if you have time its a great place to soak up...More

I took a bus number 16 from U-Square terminal and stopped at Yangdong Market station. At the main entrance of the market (which is near to the bus stop that I stopped), there were a lot of fruit stalls, fish markets, poultry shops etc etc....More

This is not a tourist attraction, it is a fully functional traditional market. Forget downtown with all of the products you can buy from home - this semi-outdoor market has locals selling produce, fish, meats, shoes, furniture, crafts, clothes, traditional Hanboks... really, you name it....More

This is regarded as one of the best traditional markets in Korea. It's on the Gwangju subway line. You could spend hours browsing clothes and sampling food. Enjoy! Korean language skills will make it much a much easier experience.

I think the previous reviewer is talking about Art Street. There is nothing small about this market! It's well worth a wander and easily accessible via metro. Lots of the produce seems to be in bulk (I really wanted to buy a fig but couldn't...More

Was a little disappointed, as this art area that was well publicized, I expected more stores. Although I still managed to find some things to purchase, I was thought there would be much more to this area. You won't need much time to go through...More

Local market with Interesting variety of foods (e.g. live chickens). Not for people with a sensitive smell sense! The clothing and other goods not interesting except from it's cheap and rare look.
