The medieval fortress in Ram is indeed a ruin, but the walls are decently preserved. I can see that it becomes more and more neat in last couple of years. The location is perfect and the views over Danube on a sunny day is something...More

Each time I visited Ram, I had the feeling I've reached the end of the world; while waiting for the ferry or just strolling along the river bank, with the immensity of the dead calm Danube in front of me and the fortress behind, it...More

Small village by Danube. Old fortress overlooking the area. You may stop for a couple of hours to have beer or fish food. It is also a reference point for kayak (ie arriving after app 5 kilometers of kayak in Danube)

I was in Ram for only an hour while waiting for the ferry across the river. It was very nice and quaint! The ferry across was right on time and very simple. I had my car and it was still very inexpensive.

Such an amazing view you can find here. You will feel like a sultan if you climb up and watch how amazing and stunning Danube is from here. This is lonely place you just can't miss if you are coming to eastern Serbia.

There's not much at Ram apart from the amazing fortress built by the Turks in 1483. Climb up the hill from the waterfront and you will enjoy the brilliant views over the expansive section of the Danube below. Be careful though, the castle is unfenced...More
