The symbol of Podgorica and also the greatest river flowing through the Capital. Its deep riverbed, large rocks and icy temperatures are just some of the main characteristics of this mountain river. On its way through the Capital, Moraca also carved out many caves. It is 113 kilometres long, and it runs from north to south, flowing into the Skadar Lake.

It is so worth stopping here for the view, was on a road trip all through Eastern Europe and this bridge was defiantly a good choice

Many cities have rivers (i.e. Budapest, London, Florence and so on), but nowhere are their river banks so green (now turing autumn colours) and full of vegetation as here in Podgorica.

If you stay long in Podgorica, you will likely cross this river. It is clean running and looks like a nice place to swim. If you go down to the old Bridge, you can walk on the gravel bars.

Either travelling along the river or stopping and strolling aling some part- is worth the view. The view of the water and the surroundings is nice.

The drive along this canyon is very scenic. Stop at one of the pull-outs so that you can get good photos.

Its a beautiful river weaving through Podgorica city, where people do sun bathing on the beach and canoeing, swimming etc. The deep gorge outside the city is worth visiting. Its really beautiful to take a walk by the river side inside the city

This is my second time in Montenegro and the visit of the Moraca River Canyon and the city of Podgorica left me really great impressions!!! The city is typical Yugoslavian town, yet I like how well organized it is, how compact it is and especially...More

In august just a little stream, not the beautiful river it can be in other times of year. Don't expect much of it in august.

A great place to chill on a hot summer day. The Moraca is accessible for a quick swim at multiple spots in and around Podgorica. Downstream of the Capital the water can get a tad murky.
